Hey Guys,
this is my first post.. sorry for that but you have to start somewhere, right? I own a 3.0 Roadster from 2003. I want to have 2 sets for my car, stance and competition. I have a question about the stance set. I've my eye on a set of enkei's but the sizes are a bit off.. I think! I am on coilovers with camber plates... Can I fit 18x10+25 all-round with the right rubber and camber? Do you please have any advice on this?! Obviously I'll share the information in/on here. Thanks in advance! greets from The Netherlands! |

Just the fronts right?!
With the right amount of stretch and camber, still not going to work? what would you advice then for the MAX width (because of lip or camber) and offset? I've been reading forums for weeks now and cannot figure out what to do.. Last edited by Coenz4; 10-05-2012 at 01:46 AM.. |

Front 18x8 ET35 225/40R18 Rear 18x9 ET35 255/35R18 Stock specs all around on alignment, good fit, no rubbing. I think fronts could come out a bit more but rear is pretty close to flush. Tempted to put an 18x9 ET35 up front too and square her up with 255/35R18 all the way around. I really like how the 255 fits a 9" wheel but the 225 on an 8 looks stretched a bit.... Really like the 3" lip on the 9" wheels too. Last edited by pmmjarrett; 10-08-2012 at 07:53 PM.. |

You are right guys..
I am about to order 18x9.5+31 fronts (3" lip) and for the rear side 18x10.5+35 (4" lip) the rears won't be with a 225tyre tho.. probably 245-40-18 check this out : This is 18x8+20 225-40-18 Which make my 18x9.5+31 poke about 8mm (without any camber, but I'll be using camber plates) This is 18x8.5+15 255-40-18 Which make my 18x10.5+35 poke about 6mm (without any camber, but I'll be setting camber) So thats where we stand right now! |

Hi all, I'm looking to replace my OE '05 Z4 rims. I read these posts about sizing the wider rims and tires but no talk on the bolt pattern. If I am looking at used rims how can I know if they will fit my Z? Such as this past from an add "4 Rial Salerno rims 17x8 ET 20 silver made in Germany with TPMS Sensors and valves to fit E60 535,528, 528xi 2006-2009" with "4 Dunlop Wintersport 3D 225/50-17 runflats mounted." Will these rims fit the Z4 and what’s the result of using these tires. Looking for a winter run only tire in my Seattle area then put my summer tires on. -Thanks

Ok, Ill post a little update even that I do not know the algnment.
This is how it sits right now. And this is how it sits during a little racing Im not really sure but I think this is the setting I run now: The wheel/tire setup is: Front: 235/35 on 8.5x19 ET34 Rear: 265/30 on 10x19 ET41 Tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sport. It rubs a little in the front when pushing really hard in corners. Also had 3mm spacers just to test in the rear (ET38). Then it rubbed a little bit on the right tire. Suspention is OEM -Tech shocks with 35mm H&R springs. Handles great! Had this setup and tires for two seasons now. Driven aprox. 15.000km including some trackdays. More treads left but I think I need new front tires some time next year. I think I will try Michelin Pilot Sport Cup next time.

Ok, i have a question for you guys. i have been researching for a week or so now on the new wheels i would like to get to upgrade form these 16x7s when my tread is up. the wheel im wanting to get is 18x9.5 and want to run it square. now my question is what would be a good tire size for the meaty look, pretty much in essence an 18" version of 255/40/17x9.5. Im gonna want to run Conti DWS and was looking at some pics of 275/35. I also would be at stock height when i get this setup, i already know im gonna have to buy spacers to make up for the offset i cant get from the get go.

Any reason why you insist on going with a narrow tire? Even 245 is narrow for a 10.5. Are you trying to go for the stretched look?

And 18x9.5 square is going to be tough for the fronts on stock suspension. For a street car, don't see the benefit of going that wide on the front especially without a suspension to go with it. If you want just the meaty look, I say go staggered with narrower tires up front and run a 235/40 say on a 8.5" wide front and 265/35 on a 9.5" rear. Of course we haven't even mentioned offsets... |

yeah the wheel i found was 18x9.5 ET45 and was gonna use spacers to make up for offset instead of doing staggered, but i guess i could see if the wheel comes in that width also. I originally wanted a 17x9 squared set up but couldnt find wheels i liked so had to give that up. It would just be stock suspension until i bought coilovers. So now i guess i will do 8.5ET45 up front and 9.5ET45 in rear and get spacers to adjust, because the next offset is a 30 in the wheel i want and not sure if that offset would fit the rear or front with those sizes.

Oh I wasn't sure if ET45 was acceptable as is or was going to need spacers or not, that is why I said.
Appreciate your advice, Been trying to figure all this out over the passed 2 weeks and finally decided to ask, hah. hopefully I will be able to get them soon and post up some pics. |

I'll just leave one final thought, are you going for looks or performance? If it's just looks, I say ditch the 8.5" front because whether you run a 235 or 255, you may risk rubbing. The 235 might be too tall and the 255 might be too wide. The best tire width would honestly be a 245 but a 245/30 will actually sit lower than stock. Also a 225 on a 8.5" will be a little stretched so 225 on 8" is perfect and it won't rub. If you want the flush look, just pick a lower offset, ie mid to hi 30's. On the rears, you have more room to play but I'd go 9" wide with a 255. Again for the flush look, go with offset of mid to high 30s. Sure you can go 9.5" but with all that extra traction in the rear (as compared what you'd be running up front) it might just induce more understeer. If you're going for performance, wider up front and running square makes sense. But that's where it gets really tricky of knowing what the right offset, wheel width and tires are. And the only way to get it right AND get the performance benefit out of it is to add negative camber (either through lowering the car or getting camber plates). And if you're not ready for that kind of investment/headache, I say stay away from the square or wide up front. My 2 cents... I'm sure other wheel/tire experts can chime in or correct anything above. |

Not tracking as of now, later on when fully paid off (bought used not too long ago) then it will be a fully dedicated for track. but as of now just really going for something I like.
I have been comparing tire sizes and offsets and I think i'm on as of now 245/35/18x8.5 et40 for the front and 275/35/18x9.5 et40-45(somewhere around that). (edited part): bah and of course never check the tires i wanted first (they don't have that size for the front). think I could slide the front in as a 245/40 or a 255/35? E9x M3 Style 219 on non-M Coupe?
Front: 8,5 x 18 ET29 Rear: 9,5 x 18 ET23 I'd be on Eibach Springs, no camber plates but doing the strut bolt trick for a bit more camber. Not sure on tire size that you would run? |
