Joining the hardtop club here shortly. Just scored this gem for $800
Worse photo than I expected or I would've taken another, but these are the covers that are essentially unobtanium now, yes? They mount on the inside corners of the hardtop base, where the hardtop prep kit goes. |

Well i took some pics today cuz we had some sun....I still dont think the pics will ever do this thing justice. I absolutely love the stitch job. The red Box stitch actucally jumps out a little and feels more squares that have been raised up. So finally here it is.

NOOOO villa!!! some bastard has stole your lock covers!!! (sorry couldnt resist)
respect for finally showing some pics of the headlining, i personally am not to sure, but it looks a really nice job.... my hardtop woes are continuing, this thing is in my back room @ my crib, and ive noticed the rear window seal has a tear so , while this thing is off the car i might as well replace that, its an inexpensive piece @ like 20 bucks, but its just more waiting, on the other hand, the hardtop is ready to go.... the trunk lid stoppers are in place, the top has been polished and waxed and looks perfect...... i will probably just install in anyway and not wash the car until the window seal is in place, as its in winter storage its no big deal really........ the only other problem im fast realising with the hardtop..... relying on other people to come help you is a real bitch, more to the point you need to rely on people that wont drop the thing on your car!!!

+1 I love it. I think it looks great. If I ever see money again, that's gotta be up there somewhere on my priority list. You did an awesome job on it.

Well I cant take all the credit. It was designed very well by a friend of mine. I just added the ideas of materials and specific thread combinations :-)

Any so i FINALLY got it...... after like 3 days of trying ive realised these top imo are definatly not a perfect fit and take some real patience to get fitted right, in the end i managed to get a 5.25mm gap... as opposed to bmws stated 5mm gap at the rear quarter panel, i now have as perfect as fitting top as possible.... anyhow it looks fabulous imo..... i actually prefur it to the open top look...... no wind noise, no rattling, no banging at all...... the only problem im finding now is the top is trapping the exhaust noise which is made it pretty much unbearable now..... i simply cant wait till my DKF system is avaiable, ill definatly be going for a quieter setup...... heres some quick pics before she heads over to the bigger garage, ill grab some pics the other end also........... i did note however that the rear hartop window is so close to the boot lid i winced as it swung open...... those little plastic hardtop boot lid stoppers on my car were 100% needed, more pics later this evening...... im Very happy with the black sapphire metalic top and silver paint work.... it really does look unique..... ill call it my bi-colour z4m.
The tops least flattering angle imo... perfectly aligned front gaps side views side gaps @ rear quarters..... rear aspects randoms The WAT to close fitment of boot lid and rear glass of hardtop imo.... boot movement limiters are in place. intercooler Definatly leaving it black however and will be painting afew other parts to Create the theme!! its going to look awesome!!

Looks good! Time to black out the A pillars and hood!
Hows the fit in the front between the hardtop and the window? In the corners can you slide a card between weather stripping and the top? I tried forever to adjust out that gap, but I think my weather stripping shrunk.
