Hey guys, it's Brad...owner of AFI. I decided to jump in here to say hi and clear up a few things. I'm not here to promote directly, just to clear up some questions about what we are going to offer to your community. If the mods have an issue with this, i totally understand and will take down my post. Until then:
- I understand $5k may sound like it's on the low side, but we priced it at that for this group buy, and this group buy ONLY. From there on out it will be somewhere around our 2011 GT kit, which is $7499 retail. The only reason we can price it this way is because we will be building them in a group which keeps costs down. This is a chance for us to get into a market that we've been wanting to be in for years, so were are extending the savings to you guys, while sling shotting ourselves into a market that desperately needs us. - On the tuning side of things, we have decided to go a different route than the ProEfi. Its a great way to tune, but they just did not want to work with us at all. There was some confusion on how much it would cost us, and needless to say it was not $1200 that I was originally quoted by my local tuner. We have found someone that will work with us on giving us the ability to do a reflash on the stock ecu, which will definitely help us with keeping the costs down. This will give us the ability to make a quality, yet affordable, entry level turbo kit for your market. Preliminary cost on this will be around $1100-1200, and could possibly end up being cheaper once we, and the tuner, dive into this project. Again, any savings we can pass onto you we will. - So this leaves us with fuel injectors in question. We will see what we can do with the stock ones, but if it turns out that they just won't do what we need them to, we have Injector Dynamics on hand to upgrade if needed. Whatever our costs are with them we will pass on to you guys as well. We're here to offer a nice product to you guys. I didn't take this time to sway you into buying a product that will just turn into a scam. We offer nice products to all kinds of vehicles, such as Honda's, VW's and now Ford's... so why not BMW's? If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to shoot me an email or hit me up on facebook. afiturbo.sales@gmail.com http://www.facebook.com/afiturbo Cheers |

And Aaron to the guys on here. There is an option for injectors already for around 350 or so

No kidding ? Have they already pressure tested one ? I was planning on either molding one or simply reinforce CF wrapping one in a banding style.
Those plastic seams can only flex so many times before rupture. |

Yup Ess actually used the stock intake for a long while on the low boost kits ;-)
just to prove im not making it up..... this kit was running 4.5lbs..... its only after a long time did they start to balloon, small amount of reinforcement and your good to go. :-) Only the middle section is weak , the sides are thick and can easily take the strain, if you guys can bound the middle neatly, it will be fine i think!! this will save thousands......

What material is the manifold made of? Why is it the intake is no issue on the S52 for boosting 20+ psi?

I believe it's the design not the material. I could be wrong

AFAIK some of the bmw intakes already see positive pressure so are designed with a stronger plastic, the s54 intake never see's this pressure by design so can be designed in a different way....... it wont take much for the s54 intake to be stitched up....

Otherwise, we'd have to do an X-ray or cut one open to see their shortcomings. |

Someone running an aftermarket intake manifold should sacrifice their stock manifold in the name of science

hi lads! Its been 4 months with my Turbo Z! we got 900hp on 1.2 bar boost! The car is stupid fast! Runs well small issues are as follow... Tuning on low down revs. we using a piggy back system which the original ecu hates!! We cant tune the cam timing the original ecu wont let us. it throws the car into safety immediately. so we worked around low rev spluttering. when i press brakes there is no throttle!!! The E46 M3 runs perfect everything works beautifully. the z4m just works very different!! I phoned HPF yesterday they said hardware all been done they waiting for pro efi..... i called pro efi and the dude was not sure what i was talking about maybe my accent lol. they said they have a harness for z4m.. it still does not help me. will it make the car run smooth with all functions working! $4000 is alot excl shipping for something that has not been tested.
