However, my son did the same thing to his 2001 Acura Integra GSR, whose headlights were very cloudy, and they came out great as well. I'd say go for it. As long as you put on a non-yellowing and UV resistant clear coat, they should stay nice a good long time.

On a completely unrelated note....... that extended leather up the middle on the back trim, do you have any more pictures of how that looks from just behind the center console and up? I've never seen the extended leather package on the back trim of the car. And for the fold down door, does it look like the leather trim is just glued on or ....? I like this extended leather part is as this is a problem piece for the plastic cracking. AND..... that wind deflector design is one of the nicest I've seen to date. Money well spent I think. The other brand (that you did not buy) varies in thickness from 3/32" at the bottom to 3/8" at the top and I'm not sure how they are doing that. Last edited by tominizer; 05-11-2017 at 10:43 AM.. |

The leather is wrapped around the roll hoops and on the oddments trim (I believe it is called). The black area in the center of the console, including the door, is all plastic. The leather extends down along the sides of the tunnel to the dash. I'm not sure if the leather is glued on that trim or not.

I've had the ZHP knob on my roadster since I purchased it in 2011. It gets hot down here in the summer, and my sweat over time tends to eat away at the leather. The finish wore off the ZHP first, then the exposed leather became gummy and began crumbling away. I'm at a point where I hate re-buying things every few years that I know will die out, so I went with the TWM Big Typr R in satin. I really like this knob. Well made and should last the life of the car now. It has a nice heavy feel to it. Drove around today with the top down and even in 87 degree sunlight, it never got excessively hot. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics

A new damned windshield cowling, FINALLY! After a couple years of grimacing every time I looked at the ugly faded, flaking mess, I ponied up and replaced it. Yay!

I need to do that to mine, as well as replace the rubber weather striping around the windshield. Though, that may be down the line.

Bought a nice carbon fiber steering wheel from forum member MCast! It looks brand new, and boy did I luck out with the way the weave goes. The wheel matches my mirrors perfectly, as well as the direction of the 1080 vinyl on the dashboard. Tops! Gratuitous pic of my whole car included as well.

Jealous!
Nobody has any RE71R's in my size anywhere in the country. DTD and TR said they don't expect new inventory till end of July! |
