Just saying Hi!
Should be picking up a 2005 Z4 2.5i tomorrow (subject to a BMW Pre-Purchase Inspection) Car is Silver/Black/Black with only 25k miles.
Mercury Insurance will offer me mechanical breakdown coverage which will cover major components for another 24 months/24k miles for around $1400. After various research I have come to the assumption that the car is pretty reliable but from past experience I know that when a European car goes wrong not only can they burn a hole in your pocket but also fry your pants too! Ah, decisions - decisions. Any thoughts, past experience would be welcome. |

IMHO, the fact you get 24/24 for $1400, I'd be a bit inclined to purchase (given there is no big fee or limits to repair costs). Although some might sway the way of saying "put it in the bank", the fact is depending on coverage, this is a rather cheap insurance. Others should chime in.... given the fact not many people have issues with these cars under 50K, but at a bit more than $50/mth for piece of mine, I'd snag the deal.

New here.....2008 Z4 Coupe
Hi,
David here.......picked up my 2008 Z4 Coupe / 6spd last November, drove it for a month on the temp plates and parked it for the Winter here in Western NY. I've already put nearly 2k miles on it and love it! Sapphire Black metallic Sport/premium package No updates yet but looking for a change in the exhaust. Just figured out how to get the bluetooth code off of the TCU through the speaker access behind the driver's seat. Easy! Packing a tire plug kit and a nice little compressor ( ViAir 88P) that tucks in right behind the battery. The run flats will be replaced with something else when they are gone. I live near Watkins Glen and am looking forward to catching some laps there this summer! Photos coming soon! Hello to all! And thanks to lots of folks for the tips and info here. |

Welcome Greenspire! Great move to ditch the RFTs.
Finding an exhaust can be a bit of a journey--but it's all good. If you haven't been to the track before I'll warn you it's very addictive. And one hell of a lot of fun! |

Hi - bought my 2006 Z4 3.0SI back last year in Oct, first time BMW owner. Still have an 04 Accord to haul my daughter in, no way I'm putting a 3 yr old in the front!
The car is mint, no stone chips or anything - lady driven and only has 12K miles or 19K Km's on it. I don't plan on putting more than 2K a year either! I will probably sell this one day as its a pain to store and don't have enough room at my house, will post it up here one day! |

Won't be heavily modding this one (relative). -HR coils -BBS CH-Rs --Stud Kit --Red BBS Racing Lugs -Hardwired V1 (used the forum ) -Full front clear bra (Premiere Auto in Fremont) -ZHP Shiftknob Maybe an exhaust in the future. Got some pedals laying around that I'll probably install too. You guys might recognize the car from previous member.
