Yeah, no doubt a few of the codes are related to the headers...
I'm quite curious about the brake booster code; perhaps the one-way valve for the brake booster was left out or improperly installed? I haven't actually pulled codes using Rev, but don't have an SES light, so I assume that means none are set. |

Getting no signal from my primary 02 sensors, which is probably causing the whole mess. The wiring from the engine to the headers was inspected, and the sensors themselves look new. ESS thinks they're not getting power to them, so thats the next thing we're gonna check tonight/tomorrow
(staying patient)

Tonight, I've tracked down that I'm not getting any power to fuse #32, which is responsible for something in engine management. Hope to get more info Friday

Thanks . I'm gonna have the tech look at it Friday, he's booked today. My only concern is that fuse 32 might be strictly for the SMG transmission, I hope I'm wrong and its responsible for the 02 sensors too
edit: yeah, fuse 32 is only for the SMG I'm told by a BMW tech

Did some dremel/plasti-dip work last night. I'm not sure I like the lower grill cut open like that. I may go back to stock

JMO, but I like it with the grill better.
I like the subtle but deadly look

One of my o2 sensors was completely gunked up from the car running rich for whatever reason. Ran great on initial startup. On second startup CEL came on, but thankfully for just P0030 code, which is 99% for the OTHER o2 sensors. Replacing that in a few hours today, hopefully that will do it, and not eat any more $$$ O2 sensors

If you fouled your O2 sensor with just a single startup, mine must be completely annihilated at this point. Though I don't have any codes, perhaps it is contributing to the high-RPM power problem. Post some pictures of the old and new O2 if you can...how visually obvious was it that it was fouled?

did any of you guys log AFRs??
just for reference im seeing 3rd gear pull @ wot see's a nice safe rich 11.3-5ish, in the higher gears like 5th a WOT situation see's a 12.5ish richening out towards the redline, checking with AJ and hans this is the perfect situation and exactly what i should be seeing. i wish i could mount my iphone somehow to grab some shots of my gauges during some runs...... Im going to try and grab a lady friend to do the camera work for me..... also FYI tom and iphone, my "new" s/c unit has just had its first oil change @ 500 miles, i will do it again in anothr 500 miles, this oil change has rendered the unit almost silent, @ idle you can even hear it bar the whistle the s/c makes.

Made significant progress. The shop that installed my euro headers had put the secondary sensors in, and left the primaries out. OOPS!
Had to get 2 new primary o2 sensors, since the old ones went bad while hanging out in the air under the hood. I held off on welding in the rear 02s because I was initially told that its not necessary with the ecu tune. Anyway, it only goes into limp mode at redline, except one time at 5k rpm. BUT not throwing any codes. So likely a tune issue, that I'll either find on the dyno on saturday or earlier if ESS sends the shop a portable unit So at least I can ALMOST enjoy the car to the fullest... I'll try to grab some video tomorrow. Ordering a boost gauge too..

I've been in much more stressful car situations, which taught me a lot of patience. At least the car was running more or less OK the whole time, I just couldn't drive it to its full potential.
but then again its not 100% yet, so lets see how patient I really am

I know what you mean about "more stressful" situations; I'm pretty damn worried about my kit, but it's not as bad as the time my Supra was behaving completely erratically due to a hidden, loose ECU ground . |
