keep an eye on those boost/ intake hose clips, i couldnt believe how loose mine were last night, infact during winter hibernation im going swap the clips for the motorsport ratchet type hose clamps that dont loosen with themal cycling, a worthwhile mod imo, look into it fr8tdog, we really dont want to be constantly having to tighten up the clamps that come with the s/c as they are a nightmare to do.

A beer and a look at the ESS kit would be cool. I'm only in cambridge for about 24 hours...but that would be cool. |

just emailed Roman yesterday and it sounds like he will have some dyno results in a day or two with the new pulley and belt. I will get some VBOX results soon enough for the VT2-500. I think 120 trap is a possibility...will have to wait and see |

At this point I can only make an educated guess that 120 trap is possible. According to AA, the E46 M3 level 1 Gen 6 supercharger kit is advertised to trap 119mph in the 1/4. Their kit produces 510bhp and 420whp using 93 octane. The E46 M3 weighs about 200lbs more than the Z4M and the ESS Vt2-500 on 93 octane should put down 420whp. So, reasonable mans theory would allow for the Z4M to trap 120mph WE will see soon enough. I know it's taking awhile to get my car back, but ESS is trying to make this kit perfect..... hardware/tuning, so I'm not concerned about time as much as perfection. I can't wait to drive this car with all the new power. As soon as I get some info/car I will post ASAP. Cheers |

I think it's possible also...my car w/ I/E and 75 shot of nitrous hit 115mph w/ a bad misshift!! 13.1 115mph. I should have been in the mid 12's
are you keeping the bottle in? and do they have a 100oct or meth inj tune?

According to your 1/4 results I would say with confidence that VT2-500 will trap 120. I'm going to keep my nitrous system installed exactly as it is now, but I'm going drop from my 75 shot down to a 35. I want to put it on a dyno with the 35 shot and evaluate AFR's, knock, egt, new HP numbers . A nitrous shot on top of a supercharger is going to produce more hp/tq than the shot number...so I want to take it slow. They wont do a water/meth tune primarily because their tuning is so spot on that you don't need it. Tuning with water/meth for more power( ie: advance timing) on a supercharger without fail safes is a little risky. However, using water/meth for safety only, is not a bad idea...especially if using nitrous. I may consider adding water/meth as a safety measure when using nitrous only. You wouldn't need a special tune for this, but you would need to tune your water/meth with proper nozzle jetting. I like Aquamist and Labonte kits. There isn't a special tune for 100 octane, but according to ESS more power will be realized with higher octane. I think race gas can allow up to 20-30 hp gains, but I'm not sure of the exact number. I just got an email from Roman about 20 minutes ago. He said the car is finished and that it's running great! They were going to dyno it this weekend, but the temps and humidity were through the roof which wouldn't allow for accurate kit numbers. He said a dyno will be done within a day or two for results. Cheers

your right about the nitrous adding more than the original shot amount on boost I guess the next bottle neck would be the clutch...any word on when this needs upgrading? on a side note, I gave a thumbs up to a nicely done 996 turbo, and was shocked to have solicited a downshift for a response I opened the bottle and gave it a stab...he had the jump but I got the a 1 car lead b/c of the instant torque from the bottle and his turbo lag. from 70-150 I gained another car and a half boost and bottle would be amazing!! got to love the s54

Hahaha...nice. That's exactly why I'm keeping my nitrous, even with a small shot the torque gain is perfect for when you need it. I've heard of some crazy gains with small shots on top of superchargers. During the summer heat a small 35 shot can transform the car.....n2o bottle psi is high and intake temps drop dramatically. Water/meth would help keep cylinder temps and knock in check. I'm going to upgrade the clutch when I build the motor and go to VT3-700. I believe the stock clutch is good for +500whp. I won't add more than a 35 shot until the motor is built, so I'm not concerned about the clutch yet. Nice to see your write ups at the drag strip...wish more people took the Z4M to the strip and used n2o Cheers

Me to Actually, I have very good news from Roman. The dyno was done in 105F temps and 1300 ft. elevation with 91 octane....for an approx. of 5000ft density altitude. I'm very happy to report a 410whp 296tq in these conditions. On a 70F temp day this kit will put down 420-430whp with current pulley on 91 octane. With the smaller pulley that Roman is sending me home with and 93 octane the kit will put down 430-440whp and with euro spec headers I was told that the total would be around 450whp!!! These are very impressive numbers and they can be made higher if you have the balls to add water/meth and more boost. Roman said the car is running very nice!! I'm flying out to Phoenix on Sunday the 15th to drive home by the 17th. I will post a very detailed review with pics, videos, and performance figures for those considering this kit. If you have the money, I submit that the Vt445-500 should be a serious consideration for Z4M lovers Cheers everyone...I'm so "F'N" excited
