Slap some KWs on an E86M, set the suspension to super soft, upgrade the sway bars to make up for the soft suspension and finally add a supercharger. You will be spending less money than getting a competing P-Car and end up with killer performance and looks. My 2c.

The Z4M looks grew on me. I originally bought a Z3M because I liked the looks more than a Boxster S, and had decent performance. When I wanted more kick to the car, the Z4M looks finally grew on me. I test drove an E92 M3 and an E46, both great cars but I wasn't looking for a sports sedan, I was looking for a roadster.
The good news is there really is an M car for every taste. The Cayman looks like a great car. Almost reminds me of my other favorite Porsche, the 944 (except engine placement). I'm with Endless, Lotus is a great way to go. I test drove an Exige. It was WAY too small for me and would have been too difficult to get in and out of since I am 6' 3", but the looks and performance was amazing. Can't imagine how much better the Evora is. |

Why not go back to a clean E46 M3 and put a turbo and aftermarket hood and trunk on it? You keep comparing back to your old M3, so you liked that styling, it will allow for more leg room and no seats rubbing the bulkhead, you already have the wheels?

You will never get the "what the hell is that" when driving an E92 M3. Everyone knows what it is. Don't get me wrong its a nice car, more refined than an MC, faster, and more comfortable. However, if you want a true raw sports car, that is one of the best head turners around, you can not beat the MC. You will always get at least one or 2 people a day starting up a conversation with you when you are driving the MC. It's a rare sports car that half the population don't know what it is. I have loved every second of ownership and can not think of any other car in the price range that can beat it. Nothing beats driving downtown Toronto and watching everyone's expressions when you are driving by. You will never get that with an E92 M3 in my opinion

I plan to buy an 4 door M3 as a family car when We decide to have kids....if that tells you anything.
I was at the Evora reveal in Bellevue and that is a hot machine and pretty practical. But like all Lotus, feels a bit like it was built in an old English shed.

I plan to keep the Z4MC and buy a "normal" SUV. How often are you going to be driving aggressively with the kids in the backseat? I figure if I need a family vehicle, it needs to be practical as hell. M3 kind of defeats the purpose.

If I were to combine the two I think a 5.0ltr swapped Volvo estate car would be an amusing option.

Good choice with starting a family. The E70 X5 is something to look at too. I picked up one for day to day driving and love it. Very comfortable and 3 rows of seats. Its very practical when the weather is bad on hwy 26 or 30.

i think most people see black BMW's as "just BMW's". don't misunderstand me though... there are few colors better on a BMW better than schwarz II or BSM... but if i were to buy a car to highlight it's sporting haunches, aggressive bulges, enormous intake ducts, and depths-of-hell wheel concavity, i wouldn't get black. my fantasy e9x ///m3 would be either silverstone or melbourne on the 18" 219's.

There is a Porsche Spyder in my down and it looks stunning in white with the toneu cover. It would be awesome to own one but it would have to be restricted to an occasional ride due to the lack of suitable daily roof.
I have been contemplating replacing my Z4M, but just can't do it. I am probably going to get a SUV or bigger sedan for the daily grind. |

My last update.
So I went and checked out a slightly modified Z4MC and honestly having had the E92 M3 for a month, getting back into the Z4MC felt plain and blah. Totally unexpected so for now I am going to keep my E92 M3 for awhile and put on coilovers, front lip, and tint and I should be fine for awhile. The exterior of the Z4MC still was bad ass but the interior was like going back to the stone age. But again I have a newer X5 and M3 with the same interior so am really use to it. LOL

I lost my job from that debacle. True story.

Ouch sorry to hear that! I'm still wondering if he was on crack or what.

It was an interesting idea in theory but poorly executed.

I dont have the e92 m3 anymore, but I had other M cars before getting the current MC. My M3 had the DCT, it made the car too comfortable and very forgiving at the track. Don't quote me wrong, the V8 is a fast and mean machine, the power are always there even past 130mph, but overall is not raw enough and a bit too heavy.
I'm still unsure if a 6-speed manual will make a big difference instead of DCT. Probably with full exhaust and race suspension might change my view.
