The ASA TM-20 was a freaking amazing blower! The power and torque that it provides between 4000-7000RPM is very different compared to the Vortech V3Si. But it does slightly get tired on the top end, while the V3Si just loves to keep pulling and pulling.
Check out this really old thread on M3Forum! There are some valid points brought up! http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=294805

But yeah, I am definitely not liking that dump in power on the top end! I imagine to be a big reason why ESS switched to the Vortech units. I wonder if ASA has made any new blowers or redesigned things for better top end. Considering that GPower uses the, I am still curious what their power curves look like.

ESS chose the V3si because of the following:
* it's a reliable unit * cheap maintenance * Internally lubricated with proof of no overheat issues on the track * lower output temperature than other supercharger * lower torque protects engine STOCK internals * very reliable unit :P the ROTREX C38-91 will deliver more power and torque in the mid-range but will require engine oil feeding and recirculation, probably a cooler, will generate hotter output temps, expensive to rebuild while the V3si can be rebuilt for like 300$ if your warranty is up or if anything wrong ever happens to it. The max out choice would be the ROTREX VC38-91, the safe and good amount of power choice will be the V3si. Thats how i understood it after some discussions with multiple parties that are very technically inclined. |

One thing about the Vortech V3Si and ESS kits is how the power is delivered. I think it mimics the natural power curve the S54B32 fairly well with it's progressional strength increasing as you reach the top end. I talk to a lot of friends who have various kits with the V3Si and they all like how the power is very predictable and controllable.

yeah the v3 has lots of plus points plus its CFM rating is insane.... outflowing all of the other units mentioned including that big ass rotrex unit.... the only problem with the v3 is the inital buy price (expensive).
i love that big vortech.... its a power monster.... looking at the graph it seems this is a crank figure??? accordign to my google translator anyway!! Spot on the power anyway!!

ASA and G-Power merged IIRC. The old ASA/ESS kits cost a lot more than the newer Vortech kits.

Since 2008 G-Power is in the ASA Group integrated. This drew a move the company headquarters from northern Germany Brunsbüttel in the southern German Autenzell after themselves.

AJ told me they moved because they wanted a unit that was flexiable on power and able to power all 3 of the stages ( and then some).
