Haha. It is something that a much older than I mentor told me when he was pleased with something I had done. It’s old timey and I like it, so I stole it and use it all the time. It is a term of endearment!!

I also have a place in my heart for the Kinks. The did a small hall concert in around 1978-79 in downtown Cleveland in one of the old theaters (Allen theatre). Absolute beautiful venue. It was in August, and the HVAC failed halfway through the show. They finished the show in their underwear and it was of my favorite shows ever. They truly gave their all that night.

I’m probably older than you, but yeah, that’s the way I took it (term of endearment), so all is good.

I’m about to be 67. I’m amazed because from my teens to Elvis, Buddy, Little Richard was 20 years. For the current teens to the Clash, Cure, Ted Nugent is 45. The Beatles, Stones, Kinks is 58. Dayum!
Speaking of Buddy Holly. I live in Lubbock. I was eating in a restaurant the other day and thought, “man, I’m three miles from where Buddy grew up.” 14 miles from where Bobby Keys grew up. Kinda cool. Last edited by JimmyJazz; 03-11-2026 at 07:38 PM.. |

Did somebody say Buddy Holly? I'm in!
Crying Waiting Hoping I've had difficulty in the past finding this song; today I found a version by the Beatles (including Pete Best) on youtube!

Found this:
"It was just past 1am. Deep inside the twisted mass was the body of the pilot. Outside lay the bodies of three young men who had been thrown from the plane at more than 100 miles per hour. They had all been killed on impact, their bodies broken, their heads smashed open. Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and Jiles P." RIP |

All the music that could've been. At least we got a glimmer of those great talents.
