Woke up to a late April fools joke with blowing snow and a car covered in ice outside. Was wearing shorts on Friday too.

Oh well winter tires are still on.

I just got home an hour ago from a quick trip down yonder, moving my enclosed race car hauler and its precious cargo down to the tree farm to clear out space in our driveway. Short sleeve weather and low 70's F on Monday while we were there.

The weather when we arrived back to Chez Vreihen was 40 F, with a moderate brisk wind making it unbearable to be outside without a coat. No sooner did we get into the house than we both heard a loud CRASH! outside in the yard. The wind knocked down a tree in the woods next to our detached garage. It fell onto the garage roof and punched a small hole clean through...and then rolled off of the roof and fell in the driveway *exactly* where the race car hauler had been parked for 15 years until I moved it on Sunday! Thankfully, my DW and I decided to leave the trailer's former parking space empty for a few weeks so the grass around it can re-grow, because otherwise the almost-Mighty Freightliner would probably have a smashed windshield and serious dent in the roof right now.....

They say water may just fall out of the sky this weekend here in SoCal.

If this happened on the regular, we wouldn't have a drought. . . it's strange to see water in the local river, enough that they are diverting into the storage ponds again. Our well had gotten to about 120' at one point, but we are back up to the 30s now.

Warm here this week with the possibility of rain..but little amounts of it. Then cooler temps Sunday and into next week.

Would love to have some nice steady rain this weekend as I laid down a lot of new grass seed in a 25' x 50' area. Been running the sprinkler a few hours a day since Monday.
