Thank you -
How about painting or wrapping The Beast the same three colors of the M logo....and angled like that as well so the car would be colored in three each sections....

Got back late yesterday afternoon, and after a quick SS, headed off to the car shop. Got there at 10pm.. crazy ramadan hours.. open from 8pm till 3am.. wtf.. anyways...
Pressurized the brake system... it works!!!!! Also did some logging for new tune.. but yeah the brake system works!!!! That was a huge unknown.... Just thought id say it again, Brake system works... obviously not sure as intended yet , but brake pedal holds pressure and exerts (a lot) force on the rotor... not sure if its enough.. street test will define if were cracking a beer over that or not. but yeah man.. that was good to see... traction is gone... but thats to be expected as the bmw e46/m3/z4m version of traction works by applying brake pressure to the rotor thats has a percentage of slipage. and pulls power from the engine.. as now there is only a direct connection with the ABS pump, and nothing else, its expected that that traction system ceases to function... which is what we wanted, but we wanted to keep the ABS... need the ABS... not sure if thats working yet, but hopefull.. i mean it should... ... i hope.... The dash lights up with the combo signal for ABS/DSC, which is to be expected for no traction control.. will code that light out later.. Edit: note on traction:... Some of yoyu might be reading this and thinking WTF, you /WANT/ traction control.. yes.. agreed if your in the wet, and not the stock traction, but setting TDR aktiv would be whats required for that, however , as this is just a track car, at this stage, ill be good without traction. (dry track only) but yeah, had a good night talking shit and running the car chasing any oil leaks.. which there werent. (oil and filter change completed too last night) frikking crap how much castrol is... an extra 2L required due to the larger capacity oil cooler.

Progress!
Yeah, not a lot of rain in Dubai but traction control would be a nice feature allowing WOT out of turns.

Spent another night at the shop... Needed to drop a set of tpms for the wheels to get remounted. I'll be having a Tpms px display on my android screen in the car.
Also uploaded tune #10... Wiped a bunch of codes, restarted, wiped more codes and then called it a night... (My little corner in the workshop) And then called it a night... Thx again for the support Josh, you rock man!!

Meanwhile...
Stuffing around with the Android box that's going into the bottom of the dash panel.. initially I bought a touch screen extender that I was going to use instead, but this is much less hassle and weighs pretty close to fuck all. I was struggling with GPS lap timer , but this will run Harry's petrol head lap timer.. pretty solid app that. And does more than I need it to do. Don't mind the doddgy as F power brick hook up.. I promise I'll do a proper job in the car, this is just for setting up. Eagle eyes will also spot the tpms usb receiver. |

Thanks , yeah they look great.. pretty happy with how that turned out..
Not sure yet on the final body color, kids are liking red atm, so possibly a really dark cherry red.. either that or the gulf livery colours.. At any rate, just back from the shop to start work on the dash.. took a quick snap while it was sitting there.. rake is way too much, the rear needs to come down another 2cm.It has provision for that. Thanks for the kind words.

I do like the Motorsport ///m colours, but I guess it's the kids that will have the final say, ofcourse apart from the minister of war and finance..
Spent a few hours with the rear yesterday.. still have to lower the front by 1cm which means I'll need to disassemble the front struts/shocks as the helper spring will need to depart the zone. Pretty damn happy with how it's turning out so far.. Dash next... |

Lolol Huge day at the shop today.. yay .. Wing is on, suspension set, rake still to set. And chopped part of the inner front guards to allow front steering lock.. well not all the way, but where I welded the stops in. It misses about 5 degrees from full lock so pretty darn good. Pretty stoked so far how this is turning out... Last edited by Vanne; 05-21-2021 at 10:49 PM.. |

Thanks Ian, its absolutely taking forever.. But i am having a ball doing it, i guess thats most important. In regards to the rear wing, i thought it was absolutely massive when i first saw it, but now with the back and most parts on the car, it actually looks small compared to how wide the rear end is..
Its stats are Width ,@ 180cm it would have dwarfed my OEM car, and is much larger than the APR wing previously installed. https://www.flossmann-bmw.com/en/rear-wing/gt2/ However now that its mounted, it really does look small.. Still have to trim the hanger once the various incline settings are drilled in the mount. Edit: those CF uprights from flossman are... Rubbish.. absolutely rubbish.. wing moves from side to side with those with little or no pressure. That won't do at all..
