LOL. Here is a question: Is my 2008 3.0si supposed to have the "3.0si" emblems on each side of the car behind the side marker?
It doesn't. I had not noticed. |

There’s a 3.0i and 3.0si. The si has two Disa valves the i doesn’t have any. If the PO debaged it and all you see is the roundel side marker you need to look at your intake manifold or look up your vin on a vin decoder or any other official paperwork can’t remember if a carfax report shows the trim difference or not.

All non-M E86's sold in North America were 3.0si's.

In case anyone is curious, these are the tires my buddy recommended. He is a manager at the nearby Discount Tire. They are impressive especially given how inexpensive they are. I just put 5 oversize AT's on my Wrangler so I was already expecting sticker shock. Not so much!
The car came with Potenza's made in 2014. Plenty of tread left but OLD and HARD and noisy and OLD (again). Four Falkens and a can of fix a flat in the trunk later the car does everything better. Also, I am getting about 24-25 MPG in normal and occasionally spirited driving on the (sadly) flat roads of Macomb County Michigan. How does this compare? Using 93 octane. I doubt I will ever track THIS car. This is my Sunday morning coffee/loud music drive car. This is my head to the boat car. This is my "no you can't drive it" to my daughter car, LOL. Though I will let her. FedEx just dropped off the RockAuto box. Cool. I have fun scheduled for tomorrow assuming the garage folks get here today to replace the broken spring on my garage door. If not, I am stuck with the Z inside. PS - Which DT? Shelby Twp.. Are you a fellow Michigander? |

Had leased a JK turned it in after not liking the unlimited. Even with a kiddo we still prefer only 2 doors. The Mrs got the TJ as a grad gift to herself new 24 years ago and is ready for a change, if it wasn’t for the TJ frame rot I’d keep it as a beater but already done safe t cap on the drivers side it’s looking more and more that it’s time. I do remember you making the salt/Michigan comment. Or rather, I remember reading it but not remembering it was you. I am guilty of driving it too much since I picked it up, but we have had warm weather (relatively speaking) this winter. Twice I have come home and found myself in the driveway, washing it in 38° weather. Small world, isn't? |

Lucky the Z is the only car trapped in the garage I guess. About the only thing I can do this weekend in try to blow out the soft top drain holes. |
