I'm not sure about backfired. I suspected you'd want one if I got one anyway, so I figured I might as well factor that into planning and budgeting as well. |

Just think how much easier the install will be doing 2 at the same time and with 2 pair of hands.

However I did buy a small roll of actually woven CF that already has the V-weave in the run. Very rare and cool stuff. I'll see if I have any pix to post up. |

You're going to need a lot more of that! Great looking stuff, there's a Koenigsegg CCXR here done using that weave, amazing to see the V lead straight down the center of the car, and all other pieces line up to it.

Also...a few good questions I may as well address here. Questions: 1. Can we choose the direction of the weave? I would like it to run in the same direction of the weave in my other parts if possible. A)-Sure ! Since I handle all production and mold loading..its up to you and me. 2. Quality of appearance. I like the look of the CF roof and would not paint it. I have seen a lot of Large CF products with ripples, dimples and other imperfections in the weave. So, will the appearance be flawless or reasonably close? A)-Absolutely flawless. I say this with confidence because of my process. Void/bubble/dimple free due to the infusion rather than open mold wet lay-up.Plus..I'll be post spraying with automotive clear and wet-sanding/polishing before completion. 3. Would I be able to adapt the roof you are selling now, to the potential removable kit you are developing? A)- Yes. The goal here is build these parts so that everyone can even bounce between a clear roof or CF roof or even go back to metal if need be.The Silicone seal will be mounted to the roof..not the car. 4. Production: When will payment be due ? A)-After the first one to test out on my car for pix and tolerance checks. 5. Local Pick up: I really don't trust shipping companies with a piece like that, I would want to do a local pick up if that works ? A)-Would love to meet you either way. I do have a really safe boxing technique if you decide to ship. Cheers, Vinny Last edited by Twisted Six; 05-31-2012 at 11:24 AM.. |
