Wow, this is coming along really well! Your car is going to look brand new again, pretty exciting. Interested to see the change you have planned to the APR. My personal vote is gloss black on the calipers as well

More so for myself, so I can keep track of where were at...
RPI scoop installed. Damage on front right plastic fang support.. Will fix that. Hmmm.. Nakid roof... The magic man. I just finished with the splitter.. If I may say so myself.. Looks bloody FANTASTIC.. Took a while, but boy has it been worth it. Now just needs to go back on the car together as one piece with the bumper.. Love it. I took some pics, but the light was failing, so won't do it any justice.. Pics will follow..

Looking great Vanne.
Worst part of a paint job for me is the hours of detailing to get rid of all the sanding dust.

Wing came in today... HUGE shout out to Ron!!! You rock man!!
A picture showing how I am solving the bolt up splitter issue. And another.. Wing needs a few things, one of the lugs that holds the wing to the bracket dislodged and fell inside the wing during shipping... Not sure how I can get that puppy out.. Wing going to paint shop tomorrow.. Brackets also getting a new coat of paint. Edit: wing is painted black by PO. Thinking of taking it back to carbon and clear coating it.. I played around with designs last night for cutting down the cards a little, but came up empty handed.. Will paint the side cards the same black as the other back bits on the car.

Splitter installing today, camber kit installed yesterday. New 10 mill spacers for the front going on today. Calipers should be cured today.. Pretty close to being finished, minus the wing... Hope the missus let's me head out there early
Shop wants to use the car for an add for their detailing/painting section.. Sounds like the wing is going to cost me a bottle of JD to refurb. Giving the mech guys a slab of beer for their help too. Car will be finished tomorrow afternoon... Cant wait. Edit: forgot to add that new wiper cover has been installed today.. Boy that original one was just gone... ran into a snag in regards to the wing, the PO painted the wing a black colour, and i wanted to take it back to carbon and clear coat it again.. no so easy they tell me and needs a specialty shop to do this…

found a shop today, they ae going to bring the wing back to its former glory.. but at a pretty steep price… right back down to the clear coat and then refinish the carbon, with a nice little sticker under the final coat… zoo hoping this is gonna turn out great!!!
Ron's wing painted black by PO.. Hopefully next pics of the wing will show lush carbon fiber .. to match the splitter. I was going to just have it repainted, as simple and cheap as that would be, but then I started thinking.. no skimping matey, havent done it yet.. not gonna start now.. and have to complete the vision as I saw it in my mind.. now if the wing had cracks ir other blemishes in it, yeah id go with gloss black... but.. if its at all possible to revive the carbon porn.... Lets say that a few more times... carbon porn.. carbon porn....carbon porn... never gets old Hopefully the sticker I have sourced will be both a statement and humble at thr same time. Its going under the clear coat, so its there to stay... Ok, in case you hadnt guessed, car is not finished today.. wing delaying things a little, but gotta do it right...

Comming along nicely.
How are you finishing the raw edge of the splitter Vanne?

Ian,
The raw edge, is actually identical to the original edge, under the rubber edge strip. I however got the paint guy to spray the edge with black 2 pack. There's a mill or 2 on the top edge and a cm or so on the bottom fibreglass section. If this is solid enough, I'll leave it, if not, I'll recut the original rubber edge and re fix it to the edge...

Thanks...
That's the one thing about the APR that I don't care for. I've been looking for an alternate solution.

i think the painted edge should be sufficient, my buddy has been running the splitter since day 1 with the rubber edge removed.. zero issues.. no delem, no lifting of the carbon layer.. not sure how it would go if you copped a massive stone on it.. the carbon layer is embedded in the fibreglass bottom, so it cant really lift. for complete peace of mind, i may spray a few layers of plastidip on the edge only.. has some rubber qualities which may help with a massive bolder..
On the up side, waiting for FedEx delivery of final parts for the CSL install, notably the intake pipe clamps x 12, and for the rest of the car, a new front window seal and front hood roundel...

back from HongKong, where i saw and talked to a slew of guys with Nissan Silva's. Great scene, lots of cars, lots of fun.
picked up the wing this morning.. and my jaw just dropped.. WOW.. JUST WOW!!! GORGEOUS!!! brackets test fitted.. measuring… and finally… No going back now… Man.. the car looks just EPIC with the wing on… haven't attached it yet, leaving that for tomorrow.. then.. its finished… well kinda.. next mod already in mind and have the car booked in for the setup and for the CSL intake to be put on… Cobi wheel after that… wing brackets being painted today as are the APR side cards… still thinking about cutting the cards down a bit… one question for those with a wing.. how tight should those brackets be on the wing.. mine are tight, esp with the compressible foam strip in between it, but it does allow for a bit of movement when you push hard on it… is that the way its supposed to be?
