not yet. I SHOULD have it tomorrow, assuming the seller shipped it out on the 19th like they said. I paid $8 extra for 3 day guaranteed service...
Of course I'll update as soon as its installed

awesome! congrats on the vt2...I just wanted to give my .02 regarding your viper vs vt2 impressions. I just got done w/ a buddy of mine who has been talking up a storm about his ls1 450whp 2800lb 93 rx7(traps 120+ in 1/4). He wanted to run me, but after a quick ride in his car I ingeniously backed out of the run. The power was just brutish, much more so than the z06 I drove. I was confident that my car wouldn't stand a chance, but he insisted on seeing how much faster his car was compared to mine on a 100 shot... In the end, out of 4 runs, it was 2/2 tie up to (undisclosed mph) let's just say from 40-to speeds faster than a 1/4 mile track can offer or a 1 mile track From all of this I surmised that torque is very misleading...I'm positive that your car faster than a srt10 let alone your viper that traps 115
I'd like to get a vbox run of vt2's vs 100 shot of nitrous now. This might convince me enough to stop filling up my bottle and slap on the vt2 already

The elbow came in yesterday, and its already in, and running like a boss. Had my brother in law help, since its a bitch to put in when everything else is in your way. I trimmed the lower part by about 2", and kept the top part going to the airbox nice and long. This is the size this elbow SHOULD come in.
The rush above 5000rpm is unbelievable! After going 1-2 up to about 7500rpm full throttle, I yelled out "JEESUS CHRIST!" The car is pulling a little to the side when I let off, or get on heavy throttle, so its either because I didn't align the car after lowering it recently, or because I have 1 new tire on one side back there, and a worn one on the other side. I'll start with an alignment I'm not a big fan of the clamps, since I tend to overtighten, they click, and then I tighten back to where they almost click. I'm gonna slowly upgrade to t-clamps Next step is a boost gauge to make sure its at its potential, and then I'll definitely install the meth kit thats laying around, not that I'm noticing any heat soak, I just want to cool down the 100*F air coming in today and get some more mid-range punch

tom please please do a 1-3rd full 7900rpm traction control off!!!! tell me if you cut loose in first ;-) i wish i knew what boost you were seeing...once you tighten these clamps till they click they are shot, the clip is the screw part jumping the little thread, they are pretty much useless after this point, i agree an upgrade is definatly needed when the time/money allows
the pulling is most likely your one new tyre not gripping as well as the scrubbed ones Last edited by Beedub; 07-22-2011 at 10:58 AM.. |

Beedub, traction issues are confirmed. in LITERALLY 100*F heat (38 celcius), TC off, 2nd gear left a nice haze of smoke behind me at 50mph. muhahaha. This is on 265w hankook v12s

not sure if I should spend the money on really grippy rears while keeping my fronts as Hankook V12s, or wait until I burn through my mostly worn rear and put a new Hankook V12 on it.
Price for 2 new tires is about $600, vs $180 for a new hankook rear. hmmmm

this is what i was trying to say to iphone, i can EASILY cut loose the rear in the lower gears............ nahh let your tyres burn out, and i dont know if REALLY sticky tyres would be a good idea, slip is protecting your Drivetrain, get a real high performance street tyre when your ready, your hankooks wont last long so enjoy them :-) oil temps good?? the hottest ove droven is 30 deg C, mine was slightly cooler than stock was in lower heat so i was really pleased with that..... new carbon varis hood is inbound :-) pics over the next few days |

No issues with temps. Mileage is 1mpg lower on the street, with the ac blowing.
I'll burn through the hankooks, and then get a set of bridgestone RE-11s or ADVAN Neova AD08 I'm not too worried about the drivetrain, its not THAT much torque..

i agree im not too worried abt the drivetrain, but sticky tyres and 500hp and a complete stock drivetrain that was designed with 340hp in mind ,WILL damage sumet..........im happy with what a high performance street tyre offers.

The only thing I can see MAYBE breaking with a lot of hard launches are the half shafts, but they make strong ones for the e46 m3, which may work. I'm not gonna be paranoid about the drivetrain holding up, as we're not the first buyers of the kit, (roman said about 20-30 are on the street), and none have reported issues

I'm just really glad my silicone elbow fiasco was sorted out without any major headaches. I'm gonna forward my costs to ESS, as I feel they should step in
The car is a complete weapon, I agree. Its an amazing deal too, since you can pick up a used z4m for $25k + $11k for the kit, and you've got yourself a LOT of car for the money.

I just ordered a wind noise reducing cover for my gopro hd, to make some proper videos. I can't wait to mount it backwards, and show some tire smoke through the gears

nah not yet. I'd love to run my friends ESS e92 m3, but he can't find his boost leak, so it wouldn't be fair game. I don't like to street race any idiot that lines up next to me
the windscreen thing should be here sometime next week I can't wait to see the hood. exterior modification-wise, I'd rather invest that money into custom rear fenders to fit some 315mm in the back though

The car is not enjoying the fact that we're not using the rear o2 sensors, but I was under the instructions that it wouldn't be an issue. My shop emailed roman, we're hoping to re-flash it
It runs fine, but a CEL is on, and it doesn't like full throttle + 5000rpm and up. Wasn't an issue 200 miles ago. If the re-flash doesn't fix it, we'll just weld in the rear 02 sensors. I was just hoping to avoid that headache. Oh well, no biggie
