I wonder what 15 psi with forged internals would be like.

My Datsun 2.6 liter inline six was boosted to 15psi with a high compression head which was ported/polished and port matched. 3" stainless exhaust with zero 90* bends and a T4 turbo and it easily hit 525whp.

I would think the Z4M would be closer to 6-650whp ??....as the Datto began with less than 200 NA hp.

your reading incorrectly... im saying we need to get our boost upto 9-10psi :-) as the other kit manufacturers @ stage 2 are running 9-10psi, and if you saying meth is too expensive to run as a daily thing then we WILL need a better intercooler, but other than the fuel system need to feed the motor, it cant actually see it being majorly expensive... then ess just fire us the vt2-550 tune.... job done.

Is the bore different? Stroke? I know for sure you need Forged internals. I would like to think you can swap the internals without pulling the engine....maybe im dumb....I saw an s54 last week at the shop with its oil pan out.....everything seemed straightfoward from the bottom up.....err out...whichever....

i believe its just better rods, forged pistons and to the heights that you set.... seeing what the turbo guys are doing with bone stock s54's im pretty certain we could hold vt3 easily..... i have no problem running 8-10psi on this motor completely stock, its PROVEN solid.... time and time again, and for LONG term, i see 600whp cars on 50k plus milege cars reguarly.

dont forget the s54 is forged from factory..... and the iron block is perfect for big power!!

I'm excited about the amazing build potential for these cars. Makes me wanna keep it forever.

You know we can drop it to 2600lbs with a full carbon kit? ($20k USD)
3.5L stroker kit (~$4000 found used, $7700 new)
VT3 kit ($$$$?)

actually, the VAC stroker kit comes with forged internals
http://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac-...-kit-p757.aspx

gonna buy a house in a few years, and the start saving up.... lol

I'd guess ~$1500

but I wouldn't pay that much for only a 1psi boost

You guys are making the things sound so easy...

ESS changed the DME software, fuel pressure, injectors and IC for the extra 2 psi. I had the 83mm pulley with 500 it was rare to see 7psi. With the 80mm pulley of the 550 it is rare to see 9psi. Maybe is my AEM boost gauge that reads lower, but there some guys saying that see 10psi with the 550.

The S54 is a piece of art with a very high CR and is very dangerous to run more than 10psi on just pump gas, even if it is 93aki or 98ron. To go higher than that it need to be race fuel or meth dependent. ESS policy follow the same rules than the top brand manufacturers with a huge safety margin to their products. Every dumbass can buy their kit and they have to garantee their good name in the market.

I went to the vortech website and found a 79mm pulley that fits our blower...why boost is so addicted.

SMG is slow but is at S5 mode. I already have a HPF stage 2 clutch ready for install. I'm just waiting that the OEM clutch slips a bit more. At least this way is more friendly for the transmission.

That is what i always complained. Barely saw 7psi with 500 and never saw 9psi with 550, but the power seems to be on par with other ESS vids.

tiago.. do you think its your boost gauge?? im seeing 8psi reguarly.... i cant wait to get this thing on a dyno and be able to see the boost trace so where i can see it peaking and buulding...!! im using the stack pro range which in terms of accuracy is about as good as it gets.....

the car looks really quick anyway..... nice to see wheel spin high up in 3rd, i can see the car has some serious power....... 550 kit seems to make a nice jump in Tq from what i see!!

here my boost gauge in "peak recall" mode

Any pics of the Ess spec fuel sytem you run on vt2-550?

Yes i already thought about the accuracy of boost gauge. But i will keep it not just by the look but also as a monitoring devide.

IMO, the torque increase is more noticible with the 550 compared with 500, than the 500 over stock form because the boost come from a dead spot of stock power.

The fuel system is just the fuel regulator. IIRC, stock is 5 bar and ESS is 3 bar. The injectors seems to be custom made and don't show the flow spec like the 500 kit injectors does.
