I agree. The CS releases are becoming too predictable. There is not enough to differentiate the higher CS trim from the lower trims.

If it helps save time, we could simply cut and paste a lot of the original posts about the M3 CS into this thread…… 😈

When you look at the times for the M3 CS versus the M4 CS The smoke and mirrors would suggest that the M4 CS is a wildly more capable car. However, when you compare the cars side-by-side they are very close to identical in power, size, weight and every other relevant area apart from a difference in number of doors.

Exactly ... I have to see the video and details but I know the M3 CS was run on regular Pilot Sport Cup 2's. I would guess all they did to cut the time on the M4 CS is run it on Sport Cup 2R's like the CSL.

In the M4 CS press release it says "Track tires are a no cost option as are ultra-track tires, specifically engineered to maximize performance on a circuit." I would assume the standard tires are Michelin Sport 4S, the track tires are Sport Cup 2's, and the ultra-track are the Sport Cup 2R's which were never an option on the M3 CS.

BMW is simultaneously annoying its current M3 CS customers by falsely telling the world that their cars are so much slower than an M4 CS, and annoying its prospective M4 CS customers by trying to fool them into thinking that an M4 CS is so much faster than an M3 CS. The truth is that that both cars on same tyres, driver, track and time of day will produce a near identical track time.

This feels like a “fuck you” cash grab without the CSL front strut brace. Absolute bullshit move from BMW.

I can hear the Chevy boys now. ZL1 1LE is one second faster still! (Won’t mention having a 120 more hp). Just stick with the cheaper angle GM boys.

I like it, but Riveira blue for me please. This green one looks like a Christmas tree.

I wonder if these will all be leased like the F82 CS. There was no stomach for the sticker price on those cars, but I'm interested to see what happens with these. I like my CS so much better than my prior three F8x cars, I bet BMW will make this one special too. I'm just wondering if people will pay the price?

That’s the prototype car. It’s the dark red one they had out there when testing the CSL at the same time. It’s not even the new big screen interior… this was like a 22 M4 outfitted with CSL stuff during development. Lol

Highly doubt it on the price. Dealers tried to mark up the CSLs and ended up begging to get rid of them at sticker. Same for CS. Car market has only degraded and the performance boost from a CX to a CS is not all that great. As for leasing, they haven't been incentivizing it like they did for the last gen...so probably not, but there's hope?

From the numbers we've seen it appears every trim level gets about a 5 second bump and then within the trims the M4 is about 1 second ahead of the M3. Further within the comp trims the xdrive is about 1 sec ahead of the rear drive. I wonder if BMW paid Porsche a consulting fee to come and help them work out the engineering necessary to get the Nurburgring times to fit so nicely in order.

Someone's going to get it in the marketing department for approving the photos without the CSL strut brace. Elsewhere on the BMW site the strut brace is there (with the paint in Riviera Blue)

Clearly this is a well planned conspiracy from the top of BMW to trigger insecure M3 owners!! I don’t believe any m4 owners really think their car is faster than an M3 stock for stock.
