What makes you think that? Chris Evans has personality in his own right. He also has a lot of people in the UK who dis-like him intensely ... which seems to be a great start, for someone stepping into Jezza's shoes! It almost seems like this trait should be a pre-requisite for the job.

They can both be arrogant, smug, over confident : perfect for the role.

I have seen many comments in the UK papers' comments section putting Evans down, with some pretty colorful language involved. BBC management will be rubbing their hands together at such an, ostensibly, controversial decision. He has the right recipe of personality and enthusiasm for cars, IMHO.

The ethos of the show seems to want to court controversy. I expect Evans should be able to pull this off with aplomb, if he is on his game.

I welcome any counter argument : after all, no one of us can be wholly right or wrong.
