Alrighty...
JL Audio Sub 6w3v3 fitted into the factory stock location.. Required a .5" speaker ring. However, the grill cover can't go back on, won't clear it. Anyone have any idea how to reduce the factory sub box by 1/2 its volume? (JL Spec says 5L, but factory sub is 10L i believe) Just can't go quite low enough. But will report back after tuning... Factory sub is 10ohms, so any kind of 8ohm / 4 ohm sub will cause your factory amp to overheat. I won't try it. Tweeter / Mid bass are 4 ohms, they sounds great... I think it has to do with the car being small and tweeter up close to you.. I had to really tune down the tweeter. Front low, is 2ohm, I had it running with the MBquart low (4 ohms) for a bit, and they are barely moving... so i won't tried that either. Cleansweep EQ'ed the system, so i tried to EQ defeat, sounds exactly the same. So either the cleansweep is retarded, or... the signal is really flat. |

What are you guys doing about the rear 4" speakers (the ones right about the subs)? I haven't seen anyone talking about them anywhere. Problem is that I'm finding it easy to find 3 way components for the front 3 speakers (6.5, 4, tweet) and subs for the rear 6.5, but I can't find just a 4" speaker for the rear - they're all coaxial with tweeters. Is this ok? Will it throw the sound off? Fitment? What would be the best way to power them?
Thanks, RJ |
