Really great work.
Any photos of the wiring and how ran above the heat shield. I may want to re-do mine.

Anybody here got any thoughts on throwing resonators in the forward part of Section 1? This would be a great time to do it, just not sure if it will affect anything or not pertaining to the cats. My reasoning is that the resonators would rapidly heat up to the same degree as the regular pipes and probbly have next to zero effect on the cats and O2 sensors. I realize that resonators are normally not put upstream of cats though. I just can't make a great argument for why it wouldn't work and have an end result on the tone of the exhaust too? Opinions on this really, really appreciated though.

Sorry no. They were up to their eyeballs in it, and I couldn't get a shot. However, when it goes on the hoist next i'll try to get some more detailed shots. I'll ask them for specifics tho if that helps |

I had the best shop in the lower mainland do the coating (I'm in Vancouver at the moment). Even the installer commented on how well they were done (inside and out)
I was told I'm good for 2000°F intermittently or 1700°F consistently. If the exhaust gas temp is 1510 degrees, my header surface temp is 890. Radiated heat would normally be 190 degrees, but now it's 70. That's a 120 degree drop in temp. Not worried about my motor mounts melting thanks. Unless someone else wants to confirm if there could be an upcoming issue? Keep in mind I'm an 08 and don't generally share the earlier mount issues (if that has a bearing on it because they were made with a better compound (10.9's). How's your CEL goin btw? |

One thing. Clear any/all codes so your ECU starts fresh after this mod. Yes, it's an adaptive system. But a cold-reboot helps clear the path for the juicy new readings that are coming the computer's way. Helps it digest the new readings better and less risk of a CEL. |

Just so everyone knows... Despite being what I consider the perfect install, I keep throwing a CEL related to 2C7E - Oxygen sensor after Cat trim control.
In the process of working it out. Car pulls like a banshee tho. Absolutely the best mod thus far. |

If I'm not mistaken, the Euro DME software numbers are: 7840449 for the M-Roadster 7840461 for the M-Coupe (I'm not sure why the roadster and coupe have different DME software) |

The response I got from AA is the following: "the secondary cats are the problem, they cannot clean up the emission enough to keep the DME happy so you get a SES. The only fix right now is for us to turn off the surveillance on the rear 02 sensors" That sux. So unless I can get 'flashed to Euro DME', then an ESS Handheld tuner is in my near future. |

Who knows? The explanation from AA seems logical, but Starscream had a set of Euro Z4M cats... stared right into them... and they looked IDENTICAL. So I dunno

My euro cats will be ready for pickup from getting coated on Monday, now I'm not sure if I should get the sensors relocated or just pay extra for the flash...

If you're getting Euro cats, then the only option should be to relocate your O2's. You should be fine for CEL then.
It's pointless getting Euro Cats if you're just going to run software to turn them off (or down) anyways. You could have just stayed with your stock ones then. If you decide to sell them, let me know! |

If that's the components you have, then you've asked the million dollar question. I'm still searching for the answer, although I believe I'll end up with the ESS DirectFlash programmer to solve it. |

I've personally flashed Euro tunes on a few BMWs (no Z4Ms yet, but the process is more or less the same) with good results. |
