Yes. Very happy with the kit. I did however get the replacement R-Dash LED license plate housing lights, that's probably why they are brighter. The kit ones are not very bright

In terms of cost... US$4 delivered. Try it, and if it turns out you don't like them, just throw them out. Can't imagine this happening tho. |

So, I finally installed my LEDs from the kit suggested above. It was ok. I loved the warm glow but the reading lights were too dim so I'm going to change the LEDs as suggested by other members here. Here are before and after pictures. Sorry if my camera didn't capture enough of the lights. I took the shot with a 35mm f1.8 Nikon lens with a D3100 at ISO 800 and I believe 1/40.

a common mistake when buying LED's is that people assume MORE LED's = BRIGHTER
there are 2 common types of LED's, 5050smd and 1210smd each 5050smd is as bright as 3 1210smd, so a 6smd 5050 festoon bulb is as bright as a 18smd 1210 festoon bulb so for maximum light output, use 5050smd's, check out www.automationLED.com |

Very interested in doing this for the Z4M Roady interior lights. I would like to have the lights whiter and a little brighter, but not TOO bright.
Where is the best place to purchase them and what exactly should I buy to just do the cabin lights? |

I did, but I am still confused:
"there are 2 common types of LED's, 5050smd and 1210smd each 5050smd is as bright as 3 1210smd, so a 6smd 5050 festoon bulb is as bright as a 18smd 1210 festoon bulb" How the hell am I supposed to know what to buy after that? |

Here's the kit I bought from eBay for the Z4. This is what the OP suggested buying. I haven't tried figuring it out yet, but you can probably put together your own set cheaper but it's a bit of a pain in the ass to do. I thought the reading lights were a bit too dim so I tried replacing them with these but it didn't make too much of a difference because you still only have one LED that's really facing downwards. It's not like the inside of the housing is reflective and the other lights on the sides would help. So after ordering some extra LEDs and playing around with them a bit, I'm basically using the same LEDs that came with the kit except for the one in the trunk.

Your probably best to go with the ebay kit I suggested (all the lights are a good brightness, except the roof lights which may be a little dim for some). If it turns out your not happy with the brightness of the roof lights - replace them with some alternatives (going by jjdrivesajazz's post - something with 5050smd LEDs would be your best bet). Again, ebay. At the end of the day, we're not talking big $ here, so don't be afraid to experiment. Hope this helps... |

refer to www.automationLED.com for more pics, check under godzilla and t-rex lights here's a quick comparison to 12smd panels, both have 12 led's, but the left one has 12 5050 LED's, while the right one has 12 1210 LED's |
