Well... Rosie made a good point that we've been degenerating into potty humor an aweful lot. I've been guiltier than most, so I should clean up my act a bit. Therefore, I will NOT explain the hatrack trick. It was in poor taste, and I am ashamed of myself, and will go sit in time out now. 8-)

Will try to get photo's for the board.......but growing up here I know as Yal says the road/traffic is likely to be bad to get over the mountain to Santa Cruz. Many crashes have happened there, drink no drink, its a trecherous road.
Will try to get photo's for the boards though. Rosie

9 is always fun. On the mornings i'm dreading work, i drive to from Capitola to Scotts Valley via the lower section of Highway 9. Makes work easier to take.

I drove over the hill to SC this friday, traffic wasn't so bad... .until you get to ocean street/south 1
I think if I can sneak down to this meet i'll probably pull off in Scotts Valley and take some sneaky backroads! |

it's been about 10 years since I lived down there, so I'm not up to speed on all the traffic issues down there, but I think any way you mention sounds like it'd be fun
depending on how you're feeling, the 129 may be more direct(at the penalty of being less twisty and scenic) but I think approaching Aptos from the south should be easier than coming from the north from a traffic standpoint |

come over 17 to summit road, take summit road east (south) to Soquel-San Jose road. This will drop you into Soquel. You can either go left onto Soquel Dr. and take that to (forget the name, i'll look it up) which will take you down to the flats (Cafe Rio Area). If you want direct, go straight through Soquel to HWY 1, go south (actually east) and exit at state park drive. I've lived here all my life, and lived by Cafe Rio, so I actually don't know all the street names. You eventually want to hit Aptos Beach Road (Drive?) which takes you down to the beach.
152 from 101 can be a fun road as well. that actually takes you east and south, so you have to work your way back north a little from there. Soquel San Jose road is pretty fun, my wife ran it at about 45 in her VW Rabbit today, so a Z4 can probably do 50-55.

good call on SJ summit road Yal!
I've altered my plan, no scotts valley crazy route, I'm taking SJ soquel road and once I'm in soquel it's going to be easy! I'll come through as long as nobody takes embarassing pictures of me skinny dipping! |
