Just FYI I checked my bolts a few months back. Two we're missing from front of passenger side mount. The back two we're both backing out. for ref its a 07 mz4c with 17K.
Replaced all eight bolts with the black motorsport bolts. Now the interesting thing is I found that with the passenger front wheel off the car you can look into the engine bay just behind where the steering arm comes thru & actually see 3 of the four passenger side bolts. If you paint mark the bolts you can now perform a quick visual inspection. Lastly for the truly paranoid, that'd be me, if you reach in you can attempt to wiggle the mount. |

My 2007 Z4MC with built date of 11/2006 has 2 front passenger bolts backed out (i could turned them by hand). The rests seemed to be intact! Scheduled to bring it in for the dealer to take care of it since the car is still under warranty.

I have a 7/2007 build and went to talk to the tech when they replaced my oil pan (defective seal on one of the manufacturing access plugs) and he put a wrench on all of mine and said they were tight, I plan to replace them with the Motorsport parts over the holidays though.

The reason why the chassis brace bolts are bigger and tougher and torqued to a higher standard is because they're chassis brace bolts. They need to stretch and hold the brace in place and it can not move in relation to the chassis (the brace). The engine bolts are to attach mounts to the engine, and the engine has some free movement because the engine mounts are rubber. They do not need to be, nor should be, as big and hard and torqued super tight compared to the chassis brace.
