Currently on the search for more meat in the front end without rubbing. Current track setup for front: Ultraform Front 18 x 8.5 ET38 // 235/40R18 --3mm more clearance than stock on inner, 3mm more clearance than Rotiform --18mm extended outer over stock, 3mm less than Rotiform Option is to run the current rear setup on the front as well: Ultraform Rear 18x x 9.5 ET36 // 265/35R18 --11mm LESS clearance than current front setup --EXTEND an extra 15mm over current front setup. -Compared to stock --8mm LESS clearance than stock front setup --EXTEND an extra 30mm --Technically this would only extend past my rotiform 19" setup by 12mm I'm thinking this is doable, worst case may rock more camber for the track. I have not tested this, but I will and report back. |

New Need Help!
I also read all the threads but still unable to figure out if stock wheels Width on my 2008si Sport packge wheels are front 18"X 8.5" ? and the Back 18"X 9.5" ?
Can I change the front tires 225/40R18 to 235/40R18 without rubbing??? and can I change the rear tires 255/35R18 to 265/35R18 without rubbing??? This is why I'm asking the rim width so not to pull the side walls in. I thought this would be easier to figure out using the tire size calculator they seem to me they will fit without rubbing but not really sure. Has anyone done this? Any help would be apprecated! It will tell you the rim style, diameter, width and offset of your stock wheels. I ran the same tire sizes on the same width rims that you are noting. Albeit with different and more aggressive(wheel pushed outward) offsets to stock. Lowered 1" I did not experience rubbing.

I am a new owner of a 2008 E86 Z4 coupe. I am interested in putting an 18" square setup on my car... in particular the Flow One Race Spec 18x8.5 ET40. What tires size will work for this rim and a stock sport suspension. Thanks!

Rear wheels caused WAY to much poke on the front. As expected. So I decided to maximize tire on the existing rim. I will report back with findings, pray for no rub. Keep me in your prayers ehehehe Ultraform Front 18 x 8.5 ET38 // 255/35R18 Ultraform Rear 18 x 9.5 ET36 // 275/35R18 I went with Nankang AR-1 for a second time now, loved em for the track last season. |

I've always wanted a set of TE37's, but I'm having a hard time finding a good front set. I found some 18x8.5 ET35, but they don't come in the color I want, or even a color that could match the rears. My options are either try to fit 18x9.5 ET38 in the front (which come in plenty of different colors) or get the 18x8.5's and have all 4 wheels powder coated (doubt I'd be able to color match to the rears). I'd have a real hard time stripping the factory finish off a brand new set of Volks though. So ultimately my question is: can the 18x9.5 ET38 work in the front of a 2006 3.0si (currently stock ZSP) or would it be wiser to go with the 18x8.5? I do plan to lower the car on coilovers so if that's required then that's no issue. The car is a street car so I don't want crazy camber eating up tires, but some camber isn't an issue. My main concern is performance. I don't track the car but most of my driving is spirited backroad driving, so I don't want to sacrifice on that. Hoping to get opinions from people with more experience because I have very little. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Fitment Question
Hey everybody, I am looking to run apex arc-8 17x8.5j et40 on all four corners with yokohama advan v601 tires sized at 245/40/R17. So would be a square setup. My car is lowered 15mm from factory sport suspension on the Bilstein b12 kit. Camber is stock. Wondering if this should fit?

Did you search the thread? Pretty sure they'll fit. That tire might be too wide for the rim IMHO. EVEN better though: https://support.apexraceparts.com/hc...-Fitment-Guide |

Hey Zpost community, I'm looking to replace my tires because I'm rubbing with the tires that came on my E86. I'm running Enkei Raijin wheels 18x8 ET42 in the front and 18x8.5 ET38 in the rear. I would like to go with wider tires than stock to protect my rims. Would 235/40R18 front and 265/35R18 in the back fit? I was rubbing before because my tires were too tall but I'm wondering if I'll rub with stock height but extra width. Edit: I have stock sports suspension

Read through a lot of this thread and the apex fitment recommendations.
While it appears many people run 17 or 18 x 8.5 or 9 et30 to et35 w/ 235/40 Why not 245/35 or 255/35 square? It seems like that would fit better and provide more grip

Edit: also like to add when talking about more grip when going wider pay close attention to your tire selection specs. Look at “tread width”. You’ll find out real quick that not all 255 width tires and so on when comparing sizes are created equal on width of footprint. Pending tire comparisons there are 275 width that have less tread contact than some 255s and so on. So certain 245 tires also will have more contact patch than some 255s. I need input on this. I have a 2003 E85 with the M sport suspension. I'm looking at getting rid of the stock staggered setup on 107's and switching to Alzor 881 staggered setup.
Rims Ft: 18"x8.5" ET35 and rear 18"x9.5" ET35. I'm also wanting to use Extremecontact Sport tires 235/40/18 front & 265/35/18 out back. I don't want any kind of spacers so the question is fitment without problems. Anybody have picts of this setup or can offer any insight as to fitment. |

I used those exact same offsets, wheel size and tire sizes on my non M for one of the first combos I tried.
Lowered approx 1" front and rear. No issues with rubbing. Pardon the fuzzy pic.
