cfrine88 have you recorded any times with your car yet? 60-130 for example?
also have you dyno'd? if so what was you power output? crank and rwhp if possible.
Are you going to upgrade to the 500kit? i kinda feel the car performs completely intune/balance with the 445hp kit, but i cant lie im slightly tempted by the minor work needed for us to hit the Vt-2 spec. If you get chance to get some side by side pulls with another car please record and post em up, Any vids of you on track?

sorry for all the questions ;-)

Wow thanks, I did not know that. I will look into it for sure.

The kit is working out very well, I have almost 10K miles on it now. I haven’t seen the little blue flames. Hard to see from the driver’s seat

I missed a dyno day in December. I will be rescheduling soon to get some rwhp #'s posted. Roman talked to me about doing a video of some 60-130 pull side by side with a stock M3 and then again with the same M3 after S/C installation. Should be cool.
No track vids yet, but I am looking at picking up a camera set so a can.

Like you, I think the car does feel very balanced with the VT1. It is more than enough power for my skill level, but the VT2 is still very tempting. I can't ignore the allure of the extra HP's . I also want to learn more about meth injection. Tonestar on M3 forum is racing an E46 M3 with the VT2 and meth injection. His car is posting great numbers and he killing it on the track.

Wow!

Your car is such an inspiration. I'd love to add a splitter, but I'm already scraping my bone stock M coupe as is

The rear wing looks fantastic as well, best I've seen so far online!

Thanks for sharing!

Working on the template this weekend. Planning to have it to APR the weekend of the 15th (heading that way for the Mfest meet). They are happy to build these for us, but we won't have pricing until they get the templete.

I will keep you updated as I go.

Splitter Template

The template for the front splitter is complete. Next step will be to get this into Tony hands @ APR. I will contact him today with the dimensions and see if he is willing to give a ballpark price.

The first time around I put all of my efforts into getting the front of the splitter perfect. In this photo I outlined the area that has been improved with the new template.

wow, I didn't realize that you would have to take the bumper off to do this.
Thanks Chris, we appreciate your work on this for us.

....you must be getting good at it by now.

This isn't intended to start a huge design....... but.

I wouldn't mind seeing the splitter run a little wider so that a deflector could be used to help push air past the lower part of the front tires.

.....something like this.

Thanks, I don't mind at all.

The final product will include the stainless steel splitter support braces.
The installation hardware (with exception to the splitter support braces) is not included. I will provide a DIY and hardware list / photos.

I'm right there with you on this idea. I have already started a wider more aggressive template. The only issue is installation. The pieces that would install in front of the tires would have to be very thin or mount to the side of the bumper. Otherwise the pieces would potentially take away from tire clearance.

How far out from the side of the bumper were you thinking. I'm currentley working with 1.5"

pulling my inspiration from the e89 GT3 cars

I haven't put a lot of thought to it yet, or taken any measurements.
But, I would think 1.5 -1.75" would be in the right range.

I was thinking side of bumper mounting, for clearance reasons as well.

The other thing I had in mind is to make an aluminum skid plate (similar to RPI) that extended out under the corners of the splitter
