also, are there increased chances of flooding the engine with this mod? i am a noob when it comes to stuff like this so any help is greatly appreciated.

i'm not so concerned about the rain, but more when it comes to washing our cars. point the hose at the hood/grill... wonder if that'd cause any issues.

however, the car wouldn't be on and running, therefore the water would not be sucked into the engine, so i do not believe this is a problem.

I've washed my car with the scoop and had no problems, even sprayed right at it to get soap bubbles out. As Black///M mentioned the engine isn't on so there is no chance for the water to be taken in.

I detailed a few cars over the weekend and had time to wash my Z4MC and did a little bit of experiment...I checked the air box and found out there is a small drain hole on the corner of the oem air box (BMW thought of this? WoW)...We tried flooding the airbox by opening the air box and directly flushing it with the hose inside with water but it just drained out...i'll try to see if i can post the video asap...

Thumbs up Great product

Ram Air Scoop is a well designed and executed product.
I did find that the top hole is placed far too high to afford access to insert the screw. I drilled another hole about half way between the two and access was much better.
The bottom L-shaped bracket was virtually impossible to access so I didn't bother with that screw.
The scoop is very secure with only two screws.

v1 is all hardwired. i did it a little differently then you guys. i didn't want it to hang from the top so i hardwired it to the cig lighter and ran the wires behind the dash. it looks good and is in prime location for me to see it. love it, makes driving that much more pleasurable because I know i'm safe. Hopefully getting the exhaust and SSK next week. Was also planning on ordering the RPI stuff and a strut bar next week as well. We will see how it goes.

Same thing over here. Had a regular screw driver and cut up my hands in like 50 different spots. Totally worth it because I do feel a big improvement with the RPI Scoop. Thanks Eloy.

Just how long of a screwdriver do you need? Philips or flathead? My hands are cut up enough from other projects...
