Ford Motor Company really got mass production of autos in the USA off the ground with the Ford Model T. In 1927, the successor was introduced: The Model A. Unlike the Model T, the Model A had conventional controls more or less as we know them today. The first delivery to a customer came in December of 1927 and over 4.8 million Model As were built ending in March of 1932. A new Model A could be purchased for as little as $380, depending on body style.

I was lucky enough to get to drive the M8 Competition for 4 laps around the Sonoma racetrack during a BMW M Track Day event. It was phenomenal, but it did everything so effortlessly it was hard to comprehend just how good it was. No drama. Just engineering excellence. I'd heard all this hype about the Hellcat. I didn't know until seeing your post and the video that the M8 is actually quicker.

To hell with a G-Wagon...this is a grocery getter'

Agog for this Unimog: Mercedes-Benz slathers luxury on a workhorse
It’s a collab with a custom build company called Hellgeth Engineering

Here’s a Unimog built to near-Maybach levels of luxury
The engine is a 7.7-litre, 6-cylinder diesel
It is not for sale — yet
Article content
Here’s one for all the Hollywood types looking to one-up their neighbour who just drove home in a top-tier Mercedes-Benz 6×6 G-Wagen. Based on the brand’s legendary Unimog, this beast manages to fuse Maybach levels of interior kit with the sort of road presence generally reserved for tanks and other heavy artillery.

The machine is a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and an outfit called Hellgeth Engineering, a custom fabricator which appears to be no stranger tweaking Unimogs for the world’s elite. This time, it turned the dial towards SUV luxury, finishing the rig’s exterior with a matte grey finish, aluminium beadlock wheels, and bold lighting signatures with modern LED headlights. In other words, this thing will look at home in a valet’s premium parking lot cheek-to-jowl with other megabucks vehicles.

Under the hood is a 7.7-litre, 6-cylinder diesel engine, an upgrade from the standard four banger and allegedly good for about 300 horsepower. While that might not sound like a lot, remember that such mills are tuned for devastating levels of torque, suggesting this Unimog is likely able to pull a house off its foundation. The final figure is almost certainly over 1,000 lb-ft of twist. Those tires are enormous Michelins sized a bonkers 395/85R20.

Mercedes says there is a mirror cam system to help views around the truck, meaning you’ll at least be able to see the peasants before running them over. Speaking of the cabin, it is hewn with rich whiskey-hued upholstery on the ergonomic seats, quilted as one would expect in a Maybach. There’s even leather on the floor mats, a claim not able to be made by most trucks. A set of burly keys dangle from the ignition and everything still looks appropriately robust inside despite being drenched in peeled cows.

Ferrari 288 GTO.

The Ferrari 288 GTO is powered by 2855cc twin turbo charged V8 engine, a manual five speed transmission and rear wheel drive, 394 hp at 7000 rpm and 366 ft/lb. of torque at 3800 rpm.
Weight is 1161 kg (2560 lbs.), 0-60 mph in 4.8 sec and a top speed of 189 mph.

The Ferrari 288 GTO is a limited edition exotic variant of the Ferrari 308 GTB. Just 272 were produced between 1984 and 1987 to obtain homologation to compete in the nascent group B circuit race, a road racing version of the popular group B rally circuit. The series was canceled before it even started, but the 288 GTO is now one of the most sought after Ferraris from the 1980s.

Coming back to the west side (north) from golf at westchester around 9am! 6:44am tee time and played 9 holes. Easy chill workout early in the morning and avoid traffic both ways haha

Harvey's, Home of the Hot Ones. Was a burger place at the corner of Jane St. & Falstaff Ave. in Toronto. The original place didn't have seating, but the parking lot was big and they gave up on lighting the parking lot because the lights always got busted out. Great place to go cruising....might have been some races arranged there too. They had window stickers that all the cool kids had in their rear side window. This magazine article was about 1975, I started cruising there in 1977. Ah to be young again.
