Big nose runs in my family and i just wanted to be like most kids growing up. What would've been your solution for me as a kid to blend in?

Fitting in is nothing new and high school might as well be gladiator school for some. We've all seen the kids who make it through and make it through with maturity and as leaders. These are the kids we should look at as role models.
Agree on parenting and the role of this to shape future years, but you've migrated away from your core argument.

We're focusing on a 9 year old and a wig to make this person feel normal....life lessons are likely not on the top of the parenting list at this time....

Yes and yes. Sad all around and my prayers always are for the suffering and those most in need.

+1

There are mothers that shave their own hair to show their daughters that it's okay.

We all shaved our heads when my little brother lost his hair to chemo at age 12. The difference was ours grew right back.

When I got married about a year later, he was in the wedding party, lead the Conga line in his head wrap at the reception, and did it with a bottle of champagne in his hand/mouth.

He's been cancer free for over a decade, so clinically "cured" but his arm will never be the same even with that metal rod.

...I retract my earlier statement.

THIS is the life lesson....do everything in your power to make others feel better about themselves when they are too weak and sick to do this for themselves.
