Have you had a chance to measure yet? I think we need a stock setup to measure properly I think.

now, keep in mind all-a-yoos-guys that these are not EXACT measurements. i do not have the proper tools for that. that being said there is some variability and therefore leeway i'm awarding myself. in general, i believe these measurements are reasonably accurate to +/- 2mm. READ... that's a possible 4mm margin of error. ok... stock suspension, stock alignment, stock wheels, stock tires... Ty = 522mm Tz = 769mm By = 696mm Bz = 186mm Cy = 743mm courtesy of aerobod, S=(Cy-By)-{((By-Ty)*Bz)/(Tz-Bz)} S(stock) = (743-696)-{((696-522)*186)/(769-186)} = -9mm [sig figs] -9mm obviously translates to a negative scrub radius, which is quite well suited to mcstrut suspension setups. this number is no surprise then, especially on a BMW. now... on to my current setup... stock suspension, stock alignment, 19.0" x 8.5" et35, 245/35r19 Ty = 522mm Tz = 766mm By = 696mm Bz = 183mm Cy = 750mm S(v3.2mc) = (750-696)-{((696-522)*183)/(766-183)} = -1mm [sig figs] -1mm is way better than i thought it would be! i half expected to find some seriously wonky and positive SR and totally start second guessing myself on whether or not i should consider getting some track wheels, or just run what i brung. turns out the only real PITA is going to be the weight of the wheels. it is also worth noting that adding the shim kit makes sense for me at this point. it may cut down on tire life, but it will also fool the car into thinking i have a close-to-stock SR, and add neg camber at the same time. and please... somebody... by all means check my math. i'm human and make mistakes. also, if somebody wants me to start a new thread with this info, just let me know.

I'm about to order the following setup for my 07 Z4 M Coupe and would appreciate any thoughts you may have on possible fitment/rubbing issues:
Front: 19x8.5 et 35 with Michelin Pilot SS 235/35 Rear; 19x10 et 26 with Michelin Pilot SS 275/30 Currently the car has stock suspension, but I would like to add some lowering in the future. Thanks in advance for your replies and I apologize if this spec has already been discussed. |

the front offsets are too aggressive. you'll need camber plates to get them to turn free, and maybe shorter sidewalls. the rears are fine.

rear = 275/30r19 on 9.5" et20 stock suspension. absolutely zero rubbing.

Front wheels are 18x9 + 42 with a 245/40/18 tire.
Car has to be slammed on KW V3 coilovers. Whats is the smallest spacers that will allow me to clear the coilover perch without poking too much in front. Basically, I wanna run low, So I need the perfect compromise between clearing the perch and the fender... No camber plates involved. |

I know some of this depends on the specific tire, but say for questionn Hankook V12 in 275/30/19 is there going to be any problem rubbing on the rears with a 19x9.5 et 20 wheel? All on stock suspension for now

I had this exact setup (Hankooks, sizes) on stock height for a long time with no issues. Now dropped .8" with -1.5mm camber and still no issues.

A friend of mine has some VB3s he is willing to sell me for a fair price. 18" et 22 squared. Will this fit my Z4M? I am running eibach springs. I will have the opportunity to purchase whatever tire would be needed. Thanks for any advice.

I love the look of wheels with lots of lip on them. I have just bought my MZ4 coupe not long ago but I want to exchange the wheels. I want to go with some serious wide wheels. I would love to put some 8.5-9.5" on the front and maybe some 9.5-10.5" on the rear. I would like to keep the original suspension and 18" wheels. (More rubber the nicer the ride!) Please give me a guideline as to what offset I need to keep the rubber under the car? I really don't like the tires sticking out from the car. Any suggestions? I want no rub.
Thanks Paul |

The craziest lip I've seen yet is Thatcher's old ride with Work Meisters. If that doesn't work for you, you're too crazy for me
