You've hot that right! I've been doing some one off parts for a local race team to test my resin systems and and work flow spaces. It's nice to dial this all in and get ready for production runs.

i'm dreading the day the first installed pics arise... i'm fairly certain the wife is going to be upset with my inevitable decision.

Yeah. A year and 6 months passed quickly for me.lots to work through on a part like this. It's not just "pull a mold" and rock on as some might envision .

Production begins within this first quarter. God willing.

I'm surprised your not on the list as well.

Just browsing back through this thread....
Have you decided on whether these will be bonded in place like OE,
or did you come up with a workable solution for a gasketted install?

They can be OEM style installed or option in my seal. The seal would be nice for ease of re-sale or painting etc. I have profiles for the seal in sample and I'm also considering molding my own pre-form shape which might easier to put in place.
Just to recap, the seal will mount to the underside of the CF substructure .... Not to the car substructure . That way IF and When the CF roof is removed and the OEM goes back in place, it can be fastened like BMW had it originally.
I guess one could order another one of my seals and put it back on the same way as the CF roof to keep things cleaner!?

Do you think there would be any structural advantage by using the OE method?

There might be slight one but I actually doubt it. The material they used was more for water tightness. As in going through a carwash type pressure.

Six,
I'm probably dense, but I just went thru all 10 pages of posts and only saw, on your second post, a version of the top on a benchtop.

Could you post (or repost for us dense ones) a pic of your product on a car?
thanks.

I think I see where the confusion is. Me, I didn't catch that you were asking for a picture of the final roof in CF. I'm completing the part #2 side of the roof mold currently. As soon as this is post cured, I will then infuse a pair of CF halves and then bond and trim. Once this is done, I'll have pix of it mounted while out doors in the sun.
