For range anxious people, I can see how the CLAR platform is not where it needs to be. But in reality, many of us, especially in our part of the world (I see you're also in Europe), just don't drive so far that a 500-600 km WLTP range is a limiting factor, at least not very often.
Easy for you to say, you have it just warm enough over there. But still, if it works for you doesn't make it particularly competitive, especially now that BMW's own range will quite literally leap past it, first with the iX3 and soon with the i3. Even some 15-20kWh more capacity (Gen5) would make a big difference.

Personally I went with the i4 mostly because paying more of the i5 (Touring) would've at best done nothing for the range (and the rest because it's huge on the outside and IMO does not feel so great on the inside). I do about 2000km/month and in the summer the range is likely not a problem, but right now it sits under 400km and last week it was about 270km on the motorway. Not that much for 2-way trip when there's no charging at the other end.

Looks like BMW confirmed the quad motor and lightweight roof option for M3. Also I presume this is Le Castellet Blue?

So if I wanted to factory order a G80, when is the absolute latest I should order by? I don’t anticipate anyone having an actual last date, but possibly a good estimate? ynguldyn would you happen to know?

Don’t chance it. Options tend to get cut off closer to end of production runout. Order next month. Get a 2027 and call it a Day
I take orders at a large BMW store. We aren’t the only ones who have a list of customers passing up 2026 slots waiting for a 2027 for any number of reasons. Your chances are getting slimmer by the day

No, this photo is not from ZA0 M3. It only showcases, what kind of natural fiber parts there might be for totally new fully electric M models in the future. But like mentioned in the top post, the new fully electric M3 will be with the panoramic glass roof.

Based on the spy shots with a double bubble roof which I don’t think could be done with glass and the fact that BMW chose to include that picture with the M3 tech disclosures makes me somewhat skeptical of that.

If they’re just going to use it for seat or mirrors or splitter, why include a picture of a roof unless this is just the same old picture they’ve used before.

I think it’s possible that this an option but doesn’t show up the way a carbon roof would because of different suppliers etc, but time will tell and ynguldyn still has better info than anyone else.

Could also be market dependent, US loves glass roofs so they get that while Europe gets carbon fiber roofs as an option.

If I wanted to custom order a G05 X5 when is the latest I should do it by? Is waiting until beginning of Q2 a bad idea?

Also does it matter which dealer I go to for a custom order? Was wondering if theres any issues getting an allocation depending on where I order from.

Is there any information yet on whether the G75/G76/G77/G93, 8 series coupe, cabrio, GC, M8GC will be released or not?

I really hope that it will also be available as an i8. I want to get away from Audi and back to BMW.

In this case, the absence of information is information.

You're late. Train with the 8 and Z4 have already departed. There's still the 4 series but you have to hurry

If you want an electric vehicle, the Alpina based on the Series 7 is supposed to be the successor to the Series 8. Maybe they'll unveil an electric version of the Alpina G73.

I guess where I’m confused is, if the G80 is in production until Feb 2027 (based on the updated OG Post) why would I need to place my order a year earlier? When I asked my local BMW dealer, the guy said it would take around 4 months from order to delivery.

Am I missing something? Lol

Yes, if you read the post responding to you..
The last of the G80 will roll off the production line in Feb of 27 but it won’t be a clean break. At some point this year bmw could (and historically has) started reducing available options or configurations, and reducing available allocations. On top of that there may be some type of “final edition” or special package that eats the last month or two of production

While today in Jan 26 your dealer might have enough allocations each month that delivery in 4 months is feasible, by summer they might have fewer and potentially some months with no build allocations or restrictions especially as summer turns to fall.

If BMW plans to mass-produce the new generation of the 3 Series G50 this year, it can only mean problems with configuring the M3 G80. In my opinion, it is better to place an order for the G80 before the production of the G50 begins, i.e., it is safest to place an order by mid-June/July, because later there may be problems.

Just order it now. Why not order from your closest dealer to you. Allocation might be an issue depending on trim / engine level.

G60 M560ex ??

ynguldyn, any chance that this model might arrive with the LCI? It had be rumored prior to release of the G60 in the US, then never appeared. It would be a better replacement for the M550ix then the current 550e, as an M-Lite with combustion engine would be great to fill the gap with the M5. My guess if it were to arrive it would be a with an uprated version of the 550e drivetrain, but the real wish would be for a V8, perhaps a detuned version of the M5 drivetrain. One can only hope. Thanks

I heard from my CA yesterday that they recently got an allocation for a 2027 G82 M4 Comp xDrive (production to start in March). No word about when or even if there will be allocations for the 2027 RWD manual G82. Does anyone know when or if they will be coming out?

Your CA must not do his job very well because G82s are flexible to either a 274H (manual), 274X (comp RWD), or 27DC (Comp xDr)
