For sure! It will definitely be a semi-regular in Shelton, I love the Ridge. You're also welcome to come by the shop any time that is mutually convenient. |

Thanks, all
We’ve spent a lot of time troubleshooting today but have the car running really well, have verified VANOS is working, and have just strapped it to the dyno. We’re going to do a base / drivability tune - I’ve got lots of work left to do - but bottom line is that the electronics are functional, we’ve got them behaving well, and the car is happy. I’ll shoot some dyno video and post later but I am currently really happy. The folks at Lowe Group Racing are fantastic and have been extremely patient with me, which is nice. |

Disappointing update: it appears that the car ate a rod bearing yesterday. While I was moving it to finally clean out the garage a bit this afternoon it developed an RPM-dependent knock. The oil from the filter has a bunch of pretty gold glitter in suspension. I think this rebuild needs a rebuild.

Agreed. My working theory is that something clogged an oil passage when the oil and metal cooled down, but also the car just passed the “clunk” test on all six pistons and it doesn’t knock when I spin it on the starter so.. not sure if that means anything other than “it’s not so so bad yet”. I’ve clearanced the heat shield and transmission wart that were interfering with the headers but also found that one of the header O2 sensor bung plugs is leaking - got one of Driven’s analysis kits and am going to send a sample in to get their thoughts on what’s in the oil before we do anything else. We’ll see.

Oil Lab Analysis....
Quote:
Lab analysis will provide great insight into the type of particulate found in the oil. I just started this a yr ago and now have two samples that begin the info trend process....started late @65K miles....I change oil on annual duration and only drive appx 1,500 miles annually; the oil analysis info is very positive so far.
