Well...in any case, I still think this pretty much sums up VF's tune for this kit on my car: |

I think the reason is the same?
It can only build pressure when the TB's are closed and the BOV isn't opened? It's not the supercharger itself that causes a sudden spike in pressure or boost, it's the fact that the air can't escape so it piles up. And that can only happen when the TB's restrict flow. So I don't think the revlimiter causes the spike, it's the fact that you (maybe subconciously) lift the throttle. I think the revlimiter only cuts fuel/ignition and not controls the TB's.

Thought I would update on how the car is running; have just under 10k miles on the kit and still no problems at all. Still runs amazing and still puts a smile on my face every day! Unrelated to the SC kit though, I just replaced my Vanos bolts (4 out of 6 intake bolts were sheared off); much quieter now.

Just over 36k miles. Here's a video of the noise that led to the bolts being discovered:

About the same mileage where mine went.
Put a new exhaust hub on while you were in there? That'll go next.

It looked fine, for now. I have all the tools to do it again though, if need be.

So, you tried the PLX gauges... what about them did you find cheap? My VF570 install is just finishing up and I'm looking into gauges... Thanks, GT |

honestly??? this car and this engine SUITS a supercharger, its perfect for its character. and very in keeping with the original power delivery just moved up the graph, sometimes huge numbers aren't the be all and end all..... my little supercharged z4m was punching well above its weight in my local sprint series this year, we held the number 1 spot for pretty much 80% of the season.... This was definitely in part to the delivery and ease in which it can be deployed.
