Although dissapointing, it's not entirely surprising. In Europe, M4 sales have been significantly worse than M3 and M3 Touring sales. To the point where my dealer had 5 M4 standing on the lot for months and could not sell them.

I am fighting with myself for not getting new M4 comp as replacement of my G21 22 LCI 330ix. M4 is so tempting for me. I will test drive one in two weeks and I hope I will hate it. Alternative is waiting for G50 350

There’s talk of a production pause for the M models next year for couple of months. Has anyone seen confirmation from a reputable source?

Hate to break it to you, but you will hardly hate it. Congrats to your new M4...

If this is true, it may mean that BMW will have to adapt its M models to the stringent EURO7 emissions standard. Ten years ago, when there was a change from EURO5 to EURO6, the Competition package disappeared from the M6. We had to wait a few months. The +15hp 575hp package disappeared and they added a new +40hp 600hp package, but overall it wasn't any faster. These were just dry catalog data. Apparently, the change to EURO6 did not work out well for them. Now, with EURO7, it may be similar or even worse, meaning that M models will be slower than those with the EURO6d emission standard.

This may also be the reason for the earlier termination of production of the 8 series than 04/2026.

Yeah, unfortunately it seems this is where we're headed (especially in the UK). I usually find Shmee's videos annoying, however, this one is spot-on with the catch 22 on the changing market and the bubble bursting. He even makes a reference to despecialization, dilution and muting of brands (///M was mentioned). Sure, the cars are technically more capable, but heavier and over-burdened with weight and too much technology. Catch 22.

ynguldyn since X-mas is approaching fast, how likeley will those 2 wished be fulfilled?
- iX3 NA5 / i3/NA0+1 with 108kWh and RWD
- i3 sedan as 5-door with a tailgate similar to the i4. Could this probably explain the anticipated end of production of the current i4?
I would dream this as the perfect car - I see no advantage of a 3 sedan against the 4GC at all, both in terms of looks but also practicality after owning one for 2 years now

I really would like to know more about the powertrain refresh of iX1 (U11) and iX2 (U10). Are we talking about an increase of the 65 kwh battery or better effiency (comparable to the improvements of the i5)? Or maybe both?

Are there any hints?

I read something about those recently. If i recall correctly, there will not be any major changes to the system. Expect more or less the same of what we already have. Minor efficiency improvements.

Also I wonder if those two will get the LCI treatment with the panoramic vision like its ICE counterparts or will it continue without it since the next gen iX1 (NB5) is debuting end of 2027?

Here it is December 1, and the X4 still shows up in the online configurator. Has the X4 been given a stay of execution?

Just a lazy web admin. bmw.de doesn't have the configurator anymore.

Website configuration is a marketing tool to showcase options not a build to order app. As long as there is meaningful x4 inventory on lots it will stick around.

ynguldyn, I’m hearing rumblings that the U.S. G65 is a couple months later now to give the iX3 room to breathe after launch. This real? Or no?

Order entry page appears to show G05 LCI going out to wk 27 of 2026, so timeframe lines up with what you posted, just trying to make sense of this given the additional info I stumbled upon.. has something changed?

You're asking about the level of precision not available to me. They could simply build new cars and park them for a month, and I would never know of anything like that beforehand.

But I never saw X3 and X5 lines as something a buyer would cross-shop. The price difference has always been too large.

Will the future lineup be meaningfully influenced if the EU makes plug-in hybrids, range extenders, and e-fuels legal after 2035?

Could this mean more plug-in hybrid M models like the M5 in the future?

December 2025
  • Added the colors and interiors for NA0, G50, G60/G61 LCI, and G90/G99 LCI in their sections above.
This update really makes me hope the G90/G99 interior list has something else missing.

The lack of a Tartufo/Amaro/Aragon/Cognac/Caramel interior option on these cars is borderline criminal…

Kyalami is too orange, and the red is just too red.. 😪

Trying to understand latest update about iX3 getting adaptive M suspension in March 2027. Does that mean iX3 M60 will launch in mid-2026 without it? Or are we talking about it as a standalone option for non-M models?
