Not trying to confuse anyone....but due to a style change I no longer care to use the screen name of Dark Schnitzer.

In the footsteps of Villa, lol.....I am now Twisted six !

Quite typical of metal to composite replacement comparo's.

The OEM glass window = 15.8 lbs. I would imagine a Lexan replacement would also come in 2/3rds lighter as well.

So a composite hatch and window may hit 16.1lbs lbs as opposed to metal and glass pushing south of 47 lbs Not bad at all.

Savings of 31.3 lbs. off the rear axle leverage !

Cheers, Vinny
Hey Vinny
Are there glass alternatives that wouldn't get scratched all to rat schit?
Or are there ways to put a surface protection on Lexan?

&&&& the other question....
Can you mold the brackets in for my wing

Yes to the alternatives. Somewhere in this thread I talk about the type of material I've chosen. It is slightly heavier than Basic race type Lexan and much stronger and durable to UV rays and day to day type use. Its actually an Acrylic with UV resistance and scratch resistant coating. Its all a part of the molded process.

Regarding your wing braces, I'll message you my email so we can discuss and view images to aid.

don't have a coupe but wondering... is the coupe's oem roof removable? meaning it's held on by bolts or rivets instead of being welded with the chasis frame. if it's removable is this how your roof goes on? kinda confused about this...

I think the idea of a moonroof is pretty sik... I remember talking about it a few years ago, and was told here, no way no how, basically... Do you think you'd still be working on this after the cf roofs? I bet with all the other z4 forums you'd get enough interest...

Oh yes! It's not dead in the water. I'm just concentrating on what us furthest along in tooling.
