cup holder repair?
So BOTH of my cupholders are shot. One seems to have a weak spring and one is not working. I think there is a spring problem but maybe I need to replace them? Any help or how-to so that I don't have to hold a drink...Thanks in advance. New member and pumped I found this place!!!

If your car is still under warranty they will be covered. When U get them fixed stop using them and buy the ulitmate cup holders, http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/
There has been lots on this topic just do a search on it |

So many have broken their stock (afterthought) cupholders. Best way is to leave them open and get in and out of the car---your knee will eventually destroy it.

i had my driver's side cupholder replaced under warranty because the clasp would no longer ratchet (probably a spring that snapped). i actually use the oem cupholders a great deal and have not had any further issues with them thus far.

I removed mine, I'm using the Euro version caps to cover that space and in the spring I will retrofit one from the new Z4, I was tier of replacing those suckers every six months.

I got mine under warranty I just asked the dealer for that instead of the cup holders, is not much but I saved some weight by removing it too.

I banned the use of my coupe's cup holders. I have a no food/drink policy anyways.

Do you have a link or part # for the Euro covers? I too have destroyed my driver side one all within 48 hrs of picking up my used Z4m.
