Colors Options
Ok, so I went to the supply store today and dropped serious cash on some awesome looking metalic threads and fancy needles.
I've also spent some time rendering the graphics that Nikki gave me. First, I've optimized the stitching for the letters and red swoosh for a couple reasons: 1) make the stitches stronger and less likely to break, 2) make them visually denser and 3) tighter stitching allows for cooler options when using specialty threads. Here's the underlying stitch pattern (the zig zag underneath) of the letters. The foundation threads provide a "loop" that the top stitches attach too. Rendering of coupe: Here's some of the metalic threads I bought. I'd say my favorites for the lettering would be gunmetal in the center, or the pewter to the left. Here's a butterfly I did for my nieces birthday (she's been taking cooking classes so I bought a canvas apron and stitched her favorite butterfly and her name on it. I can't wait to give it to her, she'll go ape over the butterfly. Her favorite color is purple Notice I used the silver thread for the butterfly outline, body and her whole name. The camera I used has a flash that ruined the depth of picture. But in person the butterfly looks AMAZING with the sparkle built in and the blended color. That silver might look to flashy on a polo. I'd like to nail down a design. I like the ZPOST on the chest without the coupe. I'm not sure how close I can get to the bottom of a sleeve with my machine, but I was thinking the back right shoulder would be a good place for the coupe profile. I could customize with a big Z4 in whatever color you want on the back right (over your shoulder blade, like the NorthFace fleece jackets). On the sleeves I was thinking "DTC Off" would be cool. For a source of the polos the Gap outlet here had some nice polos for cheap. If the shirt is a dark color we'd have to use a lighter thread. Input please! Since the backing and thread is a little pricey I don't want to do another prototype without a few votes for a design, including colors and placement. |

Exciting =]
But why not center the coupe silhouette instead of offsetting it to one side or the other? DSC off is a good idea for one of the sleeves Too bad we can't do ///M logo with coloring and everything. That'd be badass XD |

This is turning into some darn good collaborating! Santov, I'm guessing your wife is okay with you producing a few of these babies? If so, then there are some possibilities if you want to enter the handmade world of work/craft on the side for us.
I few ideas in no particular order: 1. Zpost logo on either upper chest or lower shirt and give buyers the option. (Some, including my wife, aren't fans of the boob logo location.) |

You jealous of my new Tshirt? Actually this is my favorite slob Tshirt. It has bleach stains and food stains down the front. But it has new life now! I think my wife was hoping I'd wreck the shirt so she could throw it out.
Few things:

Even if everything goes right a different material might pucker, and I don't want to send out something that looks crappy. Less variables the better. I rather come to a consensus on a medium cost/ high quality source. I might go to GAP tomorrow and get 5 shirts then people can take em or leave em.

Those two renderings are real nice! (even with the D error).

Win!
Here's the latest:
I rendered both the ZPOST and the DTC symbol as one file, that saves lots of time and thread changes. I changed the underlying stitching pattern for the red triangle so it's a "pavement" fill, instead of a boring side-to-side fill. The finished pattern looks AWESOME. I refined the circle in the DTC symbol so it looks like a true circle, and not simplistic side-to-side stitching. Resized the ZPOST and shrunk the DTC a little. I tried the DTC smaller, but the explamation point and arrow tip lost sharpness. These details really make the whole thing pop. Wife and I were at Costco today buying food and I wondered over to the men's clothing. Found these NICE polos made by CK. $17 +tax. High quality stitching, baby soft 100% cotton material. Sizes run about one size small (I'm usually a XL, I bought XXL). Buttons are sewed on well, bottom of the shirt is notched on sides so it will look good untucked, or tucked in. Even has a small "Calvin Klein" tag on the bottom side, so people know you're styling. I bought two XXL and one L. For this shirt I made a few changes:
I'm really happy with the thread, pattern, backing, colors, placement, shirt, fit, comfort. |

I'm also curious now, is it DSC or DTC off?
I thought it was DSC off, because DSC is the default setting. The default setting is DSC on, if you click it once it's DTC on, if you press and hold it disables both. Great job santov, that looks really good.

For most if not all ///M's, once you hit the DSC button, DTC AND DSC are both turned off. There is no separate DTC control. Stability and Traction are two different control features that aren't necessarily both available on M's. |

- The normal setup (no lights in dash) is DSC on, DTC off - When you press the DTC button and "DTC" appears in the dash, then DSC is ON and DTC is ON - Hold down the DTC button and you get DSC off and DTC off |

Nikki's Birthday Present
Well I couldn't find a polo in Nikki's petite size and after talking back and forth I found a cool sports jacket she liked. It's for girls, great material, has long sleeves with the thumb holes at the end. The pockets are up front with a rubber grommet and elastic eye to run your headphone wires on the inside an up next to the zipper.
For some extra detail I added a coupe on the back with "Nikki" underneath. I used an amazing metalic purple thread. Tell me if you like it Nikki! Front: Front detail: Back: Back Detail: |
