help!!! Nav system freaking out !
Hey guys, I drove a 2008 Z4 3.0si, and just today, for some reason, the entire radio/center console controls stopped working!!! At first,I tohught the radio was just off so I Just tried to turn it on but nothing happened. Then I realized none of the controls worked! not the CD eject button, not the radio stations, nothing. However hte steering wheel controls still work like the phone book/talk button. I can make calls and stuff, but it seems like the entire computer is locked up and none of the center console controls work. help!!!

I have had the EXACT same issue in my 2006 Z4MC for about a year but it resolved itself after about 45 seconds of waiting. I've tried to get the dealerships to address the issue but its an intermittent issue that they haven't been able to replicate. Did yours go back to normal?

Damn. To the dealership you go, right?
Mine always comes back to life after about 45 seconds but your issue makes me think that I'm headed towards your situation. I've already had the dealerships document the issue so it gives me a problem after the warranty expires I should be able to get it fixed.

Major bummer! Keep me posted on what they are able to find, though. I'm thinking I may have the issue you have but in the formative stages.

My nav freezes completely at times but the radio still works. The screen is stuck on whatever it was last on. I think mine is due to a faulty navi disc because it happened after I used the new disc I burned.

So yeah, I just got back from the dealership and they said that my radio module (not the radio in the cabin, but the module in the back) has gone bad. They did a hard battery disconnect/restart and it fixed the problem momentarily, but it locked back up again> They ordered a new radio for me and will replace it when it arrives later this week.

My Navigation is been screwy lately too. I check the antenna connection and that seemed fine. I guess is it possible for the Antenna to go bad ? I don't know it's great when it works but when it doesn't it's a real pain.
