M Coupe Winter tires
Hey guys, I'm new at the forum and debating purchasing an 07 m coupe to replace my 328xi for a dd. However, i'll be taking my car to school in PA and need some advice on a good snow tire that will get me through the winter. I hope i didnt miss a previous thread about this.. Thanks for your help!

I'm interested in this as well. TireRack gave me stock size Blizzaks as the only choice. Since this is my only car and I won't have a means of getting the tires to a shop for mounting during the winter, I'll have to buy new wheels as well. Should I stick with 18s and stock width tires or go smaller? TireRack has TRMotorsport C2s in 18x8.5 for $162, basically the cheapest route for front and rear.

I have some 195/70R14's for my winter tire. Of course they are on my 1988 Camry that is my winter ride. Big headed I know. LOL. The M stays in the garage plugged into a battery tender and on tire deals to keep the tires from flat spotting. Makes for a long winter though. The problem here is the idiot drivers that will hit you. Just cant do it.

Another option I was thinking of was Conti ExtremeContact DWS (the S means snow) and running those year long. Yes yes I know they are all-seasons, but I'm still running on the crap OEM Contacts so these might not be half bad in comparison and would overall save some cash...

Did you ever run the DWSs in snow?

I have these and they were awesome this past winter in KY. We had a horrible snow storm in Lexington and Louisville and I had NO problems driving in the thick snow with these tires....I'm a believer!

With some good snow tires, it's fine in the snow except for the low front end - deep snow (6" or so) is not your friend. I drove mine the first winter using Dunlops, but continuing to do so didn't seem wise in the long term.
