Z4M tire opinions
I'm looking to replace what I have when car was purchased- an unmatched set of eagle gt and OE contis in stock sizes. Would like to hear opinions on other brands of both OE size tires and
f 245 40 18 r 275 35 18 Right now I'm considering the summitomo, Hankook V12 and dunlop direzza. Thanks Last edited by RBull; 05-21-2010 at 07:19 PM.. Reason: typo |

I'm loving the v12's in f 245 40 18 r 275 35 18. Sticky but maybe a hair less responsive than the Conti's. Look good too!

^Responsiveness seems to be the most common "wish was better" comment about V12s
Have you played with the pressures at all to see if responsiveness improves? The 245/275 combo is at the limits of the OE wheels. How do they look?

One problem with the Direzza Star Specs is a limited OE size selection for the rears.
The only choice is to go up to the 275s, which are a little on the porky side at 32lbs.

In OE sizes, another extreme perf, choice is ADVAN Neova AD08
Tested against Direzza & Bridgestone RE-11 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=118

did you experience the oe tires and how does your set up compare- handling, ride, tramlining etc? any issues with uneven wear, ride etc. I see you're also dropped on the H&R's which is the set up I'm moving to.

They offer a 265/35/18 for the rear so you don't have to go to 275s....

Everyone who runs the Direzzas LOVES them. I use them for track tires as well and they're fantastic.

Down sides? More rubber on front has the slightest negative effect on turn-in-ability (but it never hampered me any). There are far more positives than negative. |

Good links^
I will be giving strong consideration to the 235/265 combination. I like the effective gearing change & as long as fronts and rears are changed the same amount, it should keep the DSC happy. & in the Star Specs, the 265s are 4lbs. lighter than the 275. (28 vs 32) Quote:

Before joining this board I knew that tires were round black things made of rubber that made good road surfaces after they had run their useful life on a car. I'm going to have to give up my girlie card if this automotive edumacation keeps up.
p.s. Installing my new Ultimate Pedals with upper left heel-toe extension next weekend - I think I'll go put on some makeup and curl my hair.

^ you'll love the pedals, had them on my 06 M roady,
I can't wait to get a set on this car. Tip on installing; Wedge a block behind the clutch & brake pedals so that they are solid when drilling.
