Need a good, relatively affordable, general purpose lens for my D40.
I'd prefer <$500-600.
I'd like an all-round solid lense for my Nikon D40, which I somehow managed to dislodge something in the stock lense as I adjusted the zoom one day. There were a few grains of sand in it or something. Anyways, no macro lense or long range one...thanks dawgues.

The 18-200 can be found used in your budget range, that is what I'd suggest. www.keh.com has some listed in excellent condition for $599.
KEH's selection of used 18-200's You could check out CL in your area too.

The 18 - 200 VR is all the lens you may ever need. Worth the extra all day long over the 18 - 105 VR.
Sold my 18 - 105 and 55 - 200 plus a little cash for my 18 - 200. Well pleased with it |
