What does BMW Assist get me?
I've got a 2006 M Roadster with NAV. From what I can tell I can call in emergencies and roadside assistance. Other than that I'm at a loss but my GF thinks the safety aspect (i.e. call when airbags deploy etc) is worth the price. Personally, if they can't send something to my NAV system for me to drive to it doesn't seem worth it to me.
Does anyone have it and if so what do you use it for please? |

1. if your cell phone dies, 5 free assisted domestic calls/month.
2. vehicle recovery(i think is included) much like an onstar like you said - accident assistance. i have the book if you need the breakdown. |

that's included in convenience...not safety AFAIK.
check it: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...t/Default.aspx safety: Automatic Collision Notification Emergency Request (SOS) Enhanced Roadside Assistance MyInfo Stolen Vehicle Recovery Door Unlock TeleService Customer Relations convenience: Directions Traffic Weather Concierge BMW Search Critical Calling and the most important part: BMW pays for the first year of the BMW Assist Safety Plan for 2006 and earlier models (credit card information required) and four years for 2007 and later models, effective from your vehicle’s in-service date. After the BMW-paid term of service is over, the annual Safety Plan fee is $199 plus applicable taxes. You can extend service for your intended ownership or lease period during enrollment. The optional Convenience Plan costs $199 per year, plus applicable taxes. You must be a Safety Plan subscriber to enroll in the optional Convenience Plan. HTH -lisa |

Some insurance carriers will give you an additional discount for having it. Mine accepted it for a vehicle recovery system, similar to lo-jack.
