Painting Stock Wheels
Debating if I should have the stock rims painted/powdercoated.
If I did, I think I'd go with a flat/satin black. Don't really want to put on anything heavier or a lessor quality then the stock wheels, and I don't have the money right now for a nice set of rims. So for the time being it's gonna be the stock setup. Just wondering if this would look good - or ghetto. Here's a p-chop of what I'm thinking (also threw on some tint).

I would prefer black-out wheels on my M if they were for winter tires just so I wouldn't need to worry about the finish.
But otherwise, they look like you blew out your tires and put temporary steel spare wheels. Gun-metal finish might look better.

Yeah - gunmetal's an option too... I'll have to try and p-shop that.
Living in an apartment in Arizona sucks. Because there's no drainage, we're not allowed to wash our vehicles at home. Which means I have to use the quarter-wash, take it to the hand-wash place, or go to my buddies house if he's home. The original reason behind going with darker wheels is to hide the brake-dust.

Black wheels on your silver would look great. I'm partial to gloss black... not as common as matte/flat. You should be able to find a place to powder-coat them for ~$80/wheel.

Could look real nice....any response would be nice...Negative or Positive. Wheels and tires are just laying in the gargage right now anyways.

I like the satin black look with the color of your car ( Space Grey right ? )... Gun metal might look blah because there won't be any contrast with the car color, plus the 2 different shades of the gray might look strange.

I like gun-metal/anthracite wheels; but think on my car (Silver-Grey) the shade is too close, but not identical, and it'll just look mismatched. I think the black will at least provide a definite contrast to the body color.

Blackout grill is already done, may have 20% tint done this week, and black or CF roof is in the eventual plans.
Yeah, I'm thinking I might go with the stealth theme and do the entire car in black/CF and Silver-Grey. Although, I'm debating if I should have some red accent pieces, like the RPI scoop, wheel caps, and floormat trim.

GP looks really nice...the monochromatic look is different and less common than black out wheels. Good job!

I bought stephenti's painted stocks about a month ago. They look amazing. I really like the gloss but they turn matte fairly quickly the gloss black set them apart from the crowd a bit, and with the HUGE stock M brakes I dont get the "steel wheel" look (the subtle I blue stripe on these helps too)
