CSL type wheels

I am thinking about purchasing CSL reps for my MY08 Z4. Understanding that this is a replica wheel, who makes the highest quality replica? I am new to the BMW Z and looking to make a sound purchase. If not CSL type what do you guys recommend?

Personally I love the BMW Style 107/202 for the Z4 non-M (below). Such a unique wheel design for a unique car design. Plus, it's a lot lighter than a real BMW CSL wheel, let alone any knockoffs. Of course, essentially new sets of Style 224 (Z4 M wheels) can be had with tires for cheap as people often try to shed them at car delivery.

Loads of people, myself included had put stock M rims on non-M Z4's with no issues. They fit fine.

The style 107's are not a lot lighter than the OEM CSL's/ZCP's. I've weighed the style 107's on my last Z4 and the rims alone are about 25lbs, which is basically about how much the OEM ZCP's weigh (with the ZCP's being slightly lighter). You're correct that the knock-offs weigh a lot heavier though. The Velocity Motoring CSL reps from **********s weigh close to 30lbs. And both VM and **********s lied about the wheels weight to make sales.

The 202 (which looks the same as a 107) is definitely lighter.

202 (18")
F 11.23 Kg
R 11.93 Kg

127 M3 CSL (19")
F 12.62 Kg
R 13.79 Kg

Sure, the 202 is only a 18" wheel, but I prefer 18" anyway for lighter weight, better road manners, and less risk of kerbing and/or bent wheels. Plus I think it looks better to have a little meat on the wheel. The Z4 M wheels are 11.2 and 11.7 Kg's respectively. Even better and not bad for OEM. As for aftermarket, the BBS CH is quite a bargain, is a strong wheel, looks great on Z4s, and is a light wheel for basically a cast wheel (but rim is rolled to shape).

No way the OEM CSL's/ZCP's weigh 28lbs front & 30lbs rear. I've weighed them & my 19" RGR's back to back, and the OEM ZCP's only weighed slightly (3~4lbs) more than my RGR's. The weights I got for the ZCP's (24lbs/25lbs) were consistent with the results from all those who bothered to weigh these wheels (check M3forum.net).

Wherever you pulled the numbers from, they're incorrect.

And I wouldn't really call the CH's lightweight. For the 18" version, they weigh about the same as stock. For 19", they weigh 26lbs/28lbs.

Don't have a hissy, please.

BBS CH

18x8.5 = 23.9 lbs
18x10 = 25.42 lbs
19x8.8 = 24.1
19x10 = 27.9

At least you got the 19" rear correct. These numbers are straight off the BBS website. Still, I never said these things were as light as forged wheels did I? I just stated they were a good bargain and light for cast (and truthfully not much heavier than the forged BBS LM). Actually, they're a step up from cast as they rim is rolled to shape from a much more shallow casting giving it greater strength and lighter weight than a typical cast wheel rim.

What? The rear offset is way different - don't they stick out quite a bit?

There might be another option. I put 3 series 197s on my Z4. The rim is a little different but the spoke design kind of resembles the CSLs. I've even had a couple of people ask me where I bought my CSL rims.....
