After getting boatload of maintenance done (rod bearings, vanos, cooling), decided to get the car dyno’d. Only drivetrain mods are Euro headers, 100 cell high flow cats and off the shelf Epic tune. Put down a respectable 298whp, which means I should be able to crack 300 once I install the Eventuri intake in few weeks

I am attempting to program this homelink mirror
on my coupe but couldn't find any programming instructions on it. After researching for a bit, this doesn't seem like the stock oval mirror. Anyone know what BMW this mirror is from? |

Try this
Clearing Existing Homelink Programming Before you can program new settings, you must clear the existing programming in your Homelink system. Here’s how: Step 1: Start by sitting in your vehicle near the garage door opener. Car on, not started. Doors closed. Step 2: Locate the Homelink buttons on your car’s visor or rearview mirror. Step 3: Press and hold the first and third Homelink buttons simultaneously until the indicator light begins to flash slowly. Step 4: Continue holding the buttons until the light changes from a slow flash to a rapid flash, indicating that the programming has been cleared. Programming Homelink for a Single Garage Door Opener If you have a single garage door opener, follow these steps to program Homelink: Step 1: Again, sit in your vehicle near the garage door opener. Step 2: Press and hold the desired Homelink button you wish to program and the button on your compatible remote simultaneously. Step 3: Wait for the indicator light to change from a slow flash to a rapid flash, indicating successful programming. Step 4: Test the Homelink button by pressing it to ensure the garage door opens or closes as expected. |

My experience with older Homelink mirrors (2007 in my case) is that they won't work on modern doors without an adapter. And the adapter doesn't maintain its settings through a power outage. Which makes it essentially useless. I gave up and now use a clip-on unit from the garage door maker.

Was planning to install my Eventuri intake with RE silicone elbow but ran into fitment issues with the boot. Really didn’t want to chop off the connector off the factory piece so running the factory elbow for now.
Now I just need to decide if I bother installing the intake “scoop”, don’t really think it does much and not crazy about the red hardware showing behind the grill. Last edited by 3002 tii; 05-29-2024 at 09:58 PM.. |

Added a couple of things
After screwing around with a couple other tuners, I finally came to my senses and tried for a third tune - this time with Severn. Along with the tune for the Vortech, I upgraded the fuel injectors to 525 cc FICs, MS45.1 ECU conversion with wideband sensors and new ignition coils. Had the intake pressure tested and replaced the intake manifold gasket set.
Car sounds and feels so different. Has a completely different exhaust tone and rumble which is very nice. Still early on working through the tuning but I like what I see so far. Also planning on a second tune to run E85. A couple other things were bothering me like the aftermarket lights poorly wired and all the expensive plastic underneath was destroyed so I went ahead and replaced that. Topped it off with a shiny new wind screen from a guy who makes them in Latvia. |

I didn't install the red scoop, kind of like tits on a bull to me anyway, and yeah, hard pass on the red showing through the grille.

I'm assuming you got the Z4M specific RE elbow? Mine is on the factory air box with an Eventuri filter housing, so identical to what you are doing. I don't know if they did this on purpose and stupidly haven't made it clear, but I found it to be oversized. I took my time comparing it side by side on the workbench to the OE elbow, used tape on the new one to mark where I wanted to cut, and carefully trimmed it to fit. Got a pretty perfect fit at this point. I also had some 1/4" thick by 1" aluminum bar stock laying around, made two simple, short brackets to lower the aux water pump that is below the elbow about an inch, maybe inch and a half. I've see where people have cleared it in it's stock location and others have had interference - I just lowered it a tad just in case. Don't think I have and photos of that. I hate that the over flow hose from the radiator just sits on top. I'm trying to source that same type of semi hard/semi flex tubing they used to reroute it along the side, the hose material is hard to find. It's high temp stuff that is thin wall, so looks OE. You could easily use some regular rubber hose, but it might look like turd. Work in progress...

Correct, same exact setup. Factory airbox + RE elbow (Z4 M specific) + Eventuri sans scoop lol.
I noticed it being a rather tight fit. But again I gave RE the benefit of doubt that it was spec’d perfectly so I sorta jammed everything during the test fit. But it’s definitely not ideal, there was so much tension and very little clearance for the other ancillary hoses. I have a bigger issue to deal with. I was tinkering with the location of the maf sensor and ended up shearing one of the screw heads. Was too much in rush and used my cordless ratchet. I swear I’ve never broken so many clips or stripped as many bolts as compared to my other cars lol. |

I'm 3rd owner. Previous owner was/is a member here. Took immaculate care of it. I thought my level of pickiness and being particular was unmatched, until now!
I've always loved how the roadsters look in white. I have aero rockers/skirts that I bought a decade ago, thinking I'd put them on the coupe but just never did. I think they look better on a roadster, so going to be adding them for sure. Sepang bronze interior, pretty loaded spec when new. The Sepang bronze compliments the sepang brown in my coupe nicely. Tan convertible top, it's a good look. Hardtop has all the little parts that go with and are damned near impossible to find anymore. Huge bonus there. Has CSL headers and euro section 1, the rest is stock. He kept the OE headers and midpipe, the midpipe is a big score for me. I'm going to get it modified for O2 sensors and EGT, then I can put the headers I've had for years on my coupe! I had wanted to keep one as original for the coupe, now I can. Recently installed Bilstein B6 shocks/struts. F10 shifter knob, really nice feel. I am going to see if Ronald at AutoSoultions will make me a shifter for it though. Have one in my coupe and to this day, it's about the best thing I've done to it. Has about 73k on the odo but with the maintenance and all the preventative work he's done, you can drive my coupe with 35k and then this car and there is zero difference. I'm going to be checking valve clearances here in a couple thousand miles and at that time will probably fully service the VANOS including oil pump disc, +/- exhaust hub depending on what I find. FWIW, he's been doing Blackstone analysis on it for a while so I do have solid trends to follow. I guess when it comes to rod bearings, I either decide at some arbitrary point to just do them, or I wait to see changes in the oil and base it on that. Not much else to do there. My coupe has a build date of 10/2006, this one was 11/2006, so that's kind of neat. I've only had it a week and it's not plated yet so really haven't driven it much however, even though they are so similar, they have a totally different feel, which is what I was after. Here's to hoping for continued appreciating values! I'll get photos soon, just haven't had time! __________ BTW, zero issue with the uhaul trailer. Just need some added blocks to elevate/effectively extend the ramps, and blocking to roll up on up front in order to clear the wheel stops. Worked great for a Z4.
