Does the m3 g80 have a burn out mode?
Hi, couple weeks ago Ive got my m3cx. Ive finished break in period, was wondering does it have burn out mode which would kind of disable rear axle brakes? Ive read somewhere that couple other manufacturers had this mode.

Its called a line lock, it locks the front brakes and allows you to do an easy burnout, the mustang and camaro has it, the bmw does not.

Het Guys, I have a G80 m3 from 2021
I used to be able to do burnouts fine but now when I try to burnout u put the engine in high engine mode brakes on sport and turn traction control fully of. But when I try it, it feels like the car stil has traction control on. It won’t let me above 2000 rpm and the car brakes by itself…. Has anyone got any ideas or tips? |

Ah, I miss the DCT. I remember years back when I took my brand new E92 M3 to my brothers house to show him. I was brand new to DCT and BMW for that matter.
I think I had it in MDM mode or TC off. I dont remeber. But I do clearly remember him telling me to mash the gas from a the dead stop. I'll never forgot the DCT reving the motor up to 2-3K and clutch bombing us into the largest burn out I had ever done. I tried this with my auto G80 M3 x drive and it just GOES. No burn out at all. It just sling shots forward like a rocket. I miss DCT burn outs...lol.

Posted this prior in another thread but I’ll never understand the fascination of doing burnouts unless on slicks at the drag track. When I see someone do a burn out I don’t see smoke from the tires, I see dollar signs. 🤷‍♂️

I was hoping this new ZF auto would act more like a DCT from a dig and let us dump the clutch depending on how fast we mash it to WOT. The DCT acted that way. You could roll into WOT and it would just go. Or you could mash the gas WOT super fast and it would drop the clutch hard.
I think the G80 has more than enough power to AWD burn out from a dig and think it would if we still had DCT. So that's what I was kind of hoping for.

If thats how YOU see it; I guess so. But thats not how I see it. Ive had 5 BMW DCT's and 4 PDK's from Porsche now. I will take DCT/PDK every single time vs an auto with torque converter. DCT is way more fun to drive to me. Id pick it every time.

The only reason you can’t do an awd burnout is because the car has a brake boost limitation in the TCU programming, if you really want to do it XHP has an option to increase the threshold or disable it completely.
