So this is what it's like to drive a proper car......

Joining the Bimmer and Zed family - coming from a history of proudly owning Toyotas (and only Toyotas) bussing the family around or commuting to work.

For years, I've loved the idea of driving; now, I can finally drive.

What a blessing it is!

Hey folks, been browsing for a while, never posted until now. Run an '07 Z4MR that's gradually becoming a track machine (will remain street legal). Although uncommon to see on TX tracks, really enjoy this platform with light modifications and find it to be surprisingly competitive and easy to drive.

Hello from a newer BMW Z4 M owner

Hello all ( M ) Bimmers!

Saved up money to buy a Prius last year. One Sunday morning, June 2023, I had a severe case of latent midlife crises, and during my morning walk, I walked past my distance neighbor. He were prepping his wife's and original owner, a 31 K mi, always garaged, well maintained female driven 2006 Z4 M, Ro to be listed on the BAT auction site. In other words , I traded the planned Prius for a unplanned Z4 M, and the rest is history.

I do get better gas milage than the Prius??? The Z4 M gets about 4g a month, vs. the Prius would have burned through 12-15 g a month with my driving.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and to take advantage of the many great support postings on this site.

Thanks

I used to have an 07 coupe (just the 3.0si not the M) in that same color. I liked it more than the e46 m3 I got after it. And you're right about easy to drive, especially with the lower power of the 3.0si - I only ever autocrossed mine, but it was a great car to learn to do that in.

New to here. I have a black 2007 BMW Z4 3.0si in show room condition. ]

It never has seen a snowflake , stored in heated garage in winter and doesn't come out in stormy or downpouring rain. Paint is impeccable and motor looks brand new. It's in showroom condition. Searched a long time for this one.

It has only one issue I am hoping someone can point me to a solution. when stopped, parked with engine off. the brake lights flash sometimes and come on sometimes for a few minutes then go out. Garage that I bought it from are sending me a BMW OEM brake switch. I doubt it's that as I giggle the ignition switch with the key and I can reproduce same brake light issue. Never flashes or comes on with car running. Only parked with engine off.

Anyone know the issue and solution ?

Thanks

Ben

Under your left foot area there is a control module that controls the roof, lights and many other electrical things. I would check the connectors , clean them and the last resort the control module itself (probably pricey).

E86 acquirer, saying hello

Well, I've waited a while, but just bought an '07 Z4 E86 and looking forward to enjoying and tinkering with the car.
Anyone near Ballarat Australia with similar interests?
