Sweet 16th
Happy belated sweet 16 to the ol'girl. To celebrate the special occasion, took it out on a canyon run to click over the odo into the 70k-mile era! Then gave it a bath to clean everything up. The car isn't without faults cosmetically, but I wanted it to be mechanically sound since this is a driver and not a garage queen!

Therefore, her birthday gift consists of a cooling system overhaul. Luckily, I ticked the "KAIV" install option during checkout so I just sat back and watched Kevin do all the work!

I've owned the car since 2010 when it just had ~7,400 miles...so almost new As the old saying goes - how times fly when you're having fun! Had some amazing times with the car and met lots of wonderful people along the way because of it. This is one of the best forum among various car communities! Actually, the Z community in general are pretty awesome! Getting some unexpected waves and cheering on every so often

The first few years of owning the car consists mostly of going on canyon runs on my own and maybe with another friend or two exploring most of what Southern Cal has to offer.

Then there are the countless cruises with the local SoCal ZSCCA (Z4) chapter.

Great pictures and a wonderful car! You are doing it right!
Now I have to go get a vanity plate for my 3.0si Roadster! We only have the rear plate here in MI but our Governor is making noise about the "safety" of two plates but she really means the "revenue" of two plates. I am off to the state website to order a plate! |

I spotted you the afternoon you picked up your Moupe from Kaiv, you seemed extra happy, I understand that feeling , too bad I was in a work vehicle went unnoticed. My Moupe just broke the threshold into the 75K miles and to celebrate, went to Streets Of Willow over the weekend, tons of fun!

During that service, Kevin found a leaking rear shock. So, a set of damper refresh is the next gift for the ol'girl. Streets Of Willow sounds like a lot of fun! I've been wanting to give the track a go for a while now. However, with two little kids, I hardly have time to even have a drive in the Z at all as of late. Hoping for many more to come

Spent the morning stripping out the trunk in preparation for the new dampers installation - making my installer's life easier. Now I have a garage full of trim pieces laying around!
After this exercise, I realized that it's much easier to remove the rear bulkhead carpet (or at least move enough of it) to get to the CD changer cabling area from the passenger side than the driver side if I ever want to change out the GROM for the Bluebus uniit in the future.

I just remembered that a similar situation happened with the expansion tank. FCPEuro indicated the expansion tank usually ship 2-3 days as it's available from a supplier, which is similar on other places like ECS. However, after a couple of weeks when I checked on the status, their website showed that it was shipped but without a tracking number. Thought it was odd since I usually get tracking info from them when things were shipped. When I inquired about it, they told me that it had to be shipped from Germany and was about a month out. It took longer than expected, but I'm also glad that it got here! Because of this fiasco, I saved the old hose and expansion tank in case I need it for a future emergency "fix".

Wow...good to know. I was planning on doing my refresh in the summer and I'm just missing that one hose. I might just order two lol. Fortunately, I was able to get all the other parts. Thanks!

While I had the trunk stripped, I decided to replace the GROM with Bluebus. Very happy with it so far
