Wind Deflector. Worth it?
I know this topic lightly beaten to death over the years and I'm way [way] late to the party, but just looking for confirmation before pulling the trigger. Do the wind deflectors really reduce wind turbulence and noise in the cabin while driving? I'm mostly interested in getting one for when driving on the highway with the top down. How effective are they really at high speeds, and is there is a point where they become ineffective?
With genuine parts/accessories quickly getting discontinued and becoming hard to come by, I want get one before it's too late. Any input is highly appreciated.

Don’t have a Z vert, but from experience with 1 series convertible a wind deflector helps a lot. Noise and wind significantly go down. And specifically on highway. At low speed difference isn’t that high.

I have the OE one you show, and it does greatly reduce wind buffeting. On the highway I do roll up he windows (fishbowl mode as my daughter calls it) because at 70 with the wind deflector and windows up it is like 40 with wind deflectors and top down.
Still not as effective as the Audi A4 windscreen in my S550 Mustang though. It's dead still. I'd do it again in a heartbeat and wholly recco it! Chris Last edited by homebrw; 04-23-2024 at 08:07 PM.. |
